How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very stylish and newly redone space. Comfortable room. Nice bathroom and common areas. Awesome location right on a lovely square. Gorgeous windows with new shutters to block noise at night. Really nice staff.

Heater in room did not work.
Perfect location on the old Town with lots of restaurants and cafes around. Very friendly staff. Tiny room, but a communal lounge area and kitchen with kettle, fridge, coffee machine, etc, etc.

There is some noise from the bar downstairs at night and I appreciated the earplugs that were provided.
I loved the big windows in the room facing the square. Comfortable bed. Tastefully decorated.

Hard to find since I am directional challenge
Unique location and a bedroom with a detached private bathroom— not a problem—just different. Located in the historical section and close to the Pilgrims cathedral.

Not easy to find, had to ask the Correos lady which was the door. Double room was great, but bunk beds not so comfortable
In a lovely bustling courtyard of character. Old thick walls with lots of character. Great shower

While the property is excellent there is a noise from the square restaurants until 1am and my room was off the square.. ear plugs were supplied.

All was perfect.
The best stay on our portuguese camino. In a beautifully and tastefully renovated house, it has bars right downstairs for some drinks or tapas. We spent 2 nights there, since we had a day off and we could not have picked a better place.

A lovely place to stay on the Camino walk. The hosts gave us all the information we needed prior to arrival. The kitchen/seating area is a great space to relax. Beds are comfy and the shower perfect leaving you refreshed and ready for the next day's walk. It is also ideally situated near plenty of bars, restaurants and historic sites in the old town.

It is so centrally located that one can hear people outside/ downstairs until late.
A beautifully renovated 15th century pension with 4 rooms and a welcoming kitchen-sitting room . It’s centrally located and the owner lives only blocks away and is happy to share his extensive knowledge of the city and its environs.

Like many of these property conversions there is a small amount of noise that transfers across the rooms.
Great location above a couple of busy bars in a square just a couple of hundred metres from the Camino. Really nice building converted for accommodation. Classy traditional style with a large bedroom. Owner kindly stored our bags for us from the luggage transfer company. “Open” kitchen and relaxing area overlooking square.

It was fine. No problems at all!
Centrally located, steps from the Camino. Staff very responsive when I could not find the entrance even though I was right in front of it! Nice bar downstairs, I do believe we were the only extranjeros there. Very comfortable room. Noise from bar not an issue because we had the fan on.

The room was very nice, you can see that everything is new. Manuel is a great host, he gave us a great welcome and even recommended some restaurants to go to in Pontevedra.

Nothing, we liked everything.
It was super well located, very clean and cozy. They had a kitchen with some refreshments and cold water in the fridge. Although it’s located in the town centre, it was very peaceful and quite.

It was a bit noisy during evening time because of the bars downstairs but it didn’t disturb me much anyway.
I had amazing stay at this hotel. It’s located just a few minutes from Camino so perfect spot if you do Camino. The building and interior itself was so beautiful and authentic. Hotel is located in the heart of old town with an excellent restaurant just downstairs. I highly recommend it!

The only downside was that it was noisy outside as it is right above a square with outdoor cafes/bars. It was a Sunday night and the noise lasted until 2am. Be prepared with earplugs!
Beautiful, comfortable Pensión right in the center of town. Owner was wonderful and even left us 2 avocados from his mother’s property. He got our room ready early so we could have an early check in as my husband was not feeling too well. Very kind and thoughtful.

The room was cold being the 1st day open in the new season. When we checked in, the heating was on but when we came back after dinner, the heating didn't work anymore, the room, bathroom were just coldddddd... didnt contact the host as it was already very late in the evening.
Quiet clean, in the old town. Friendly host Manuel. Was allowed to check in 1.5 hours earlier.
