Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SerbiaI did not like the price :) you can see things insite are not new, but are really well maintained.
I like the fact they helped me enter earlier in the room. There was a complimentary water in the room. The pool are is nice, I just didn't have time to use it. The breakfast was good. There was an ironing set in the room.

United KingdomNo lock on the bathroom door. Pool is not heated. Despite spending thousands of pounds each year with booking.com, absolutely no support when requesting a change in the booking dates due to a genuine mistake.
Comfortable beds and great views. Complementary room drinks. Very good continental breakfast. Lots of fresh fruits, pastries, juices, bread, cereals and natural yoghurts. Great staff.

PhilippinesOur non-smoking room at the 5th floor had the smell of cigarettes. The view was the roof of the adjacent property. We asked to be transferred and the staff gladly accommodated. So we were transferred at the 10th floor, nice sea view and no smoky smell.
Proximity to a mall for easy access to essentials. Taxi stand just outside the property. Daily complimentary coffee (Nespresso) and water.

Costa RicaThe only thing that was not excellent was the breakfast. For the price, the eggs could have been cooked to order and variety on a daily basis would have been nice.
I stayed at AC Marriott while I was attending a conference next door. The room was nice and comfortable for me. I wish that there had been a better place to keep my luggage (I don't unpack to the closet), but I was able to leave my bag open under my bed and just pull it out when needed. The staff could not have been nicer. It was about a 15 minute ride on the metro to the historic center of Barcelona. The only thing that was not excellent was the breakfast. For the price, the eggs could have been cooked to order and variety on a daily basis would have been nice.
