Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SerbiaThere were ants in the apartment, both in the kitchen and bathroom - not too many but still affected the experience. The mattress is not very comfortable, too soft and it seems quite old. Also, the sofa is extremely uncomfortable, you can feel the metal structure in it. There was also some miscommunication with the hosts, I suppose mostly because of the language barrier. This is also our general experience in Blanes - if you don't speak Spanish, Catalan, or even French it is very difficult to communicate with waiters, taxi drivers, cashiers, etc.
The location is fantastic, a two-minute walk to the beach and city center. All the amenities were functional and very useful to us. The apartment was very clean.

SwitzerlandThe shower was very, very small, no heating the air con gave cold air when set on heat. Very Difficult communication I contacted on WhatsApp, phone & via the website not answering of questions in time stated, or phone. No clear instruction of rubbish collection, TV channels did not work! Bed smelt bad body odor and very uncomfortable, sofa very uncomfortable, not enough soap or. Washing soap or toilet paper, no cleaning liquid, very, very noisy downstairs people and outside, church and construction works. On the top floor, no lift very steep, no access to terrace he never unlocked it.
Appliances, cooking pans & utensils, crockery, the place was clean. Towels clean.

NetherlandsNarrow shower, narrow stairs (will be a problem for people with big luggage). Nothing else to complain. I enjoyed my stay here. Definitely stay here next time.
Great location, equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster). Possibility to pay a city tax by card. Also a washing machine was a great advantage for me. A bit noisy, but not that terrible (no bars or clubs downstairs - just people on the street and bell rings at the church nearby).
