The walls are really thin so if you have light sleep it can be an issue

The staff was really kind and the food from the restaurant was really good

It was exceptionally hot while we were there, and therefore difficult to sleep. However, once we were given a fan on the second night it became much easier.

Unique and beautiful location, helpful staff and lovely home cooked food. We spotted some vultures up in the mountains and one of the members of staff was kind enough to chat to us about them and show us amazing photos he had.

Paradise - but only for some.

If you don't like water-based activities, or dogs, or if you're travelling independently this may not be the place for you. For example, there's a microwave but no plates, bowls, spoons, forks, knives, or places to wash them up.

For the right kind of traveller, this is an outstanding hostel. There's a huge lake nearby, it's very isolated and surrounded by countryside, and has dogs. You'll need your own transport to get to and from it over the steep mountain roads. If you like water-based activities, and dogs, and are travelling in a group this may well be the place for you.

Some of the outside areas were scruffy and in a state of disrepair. There was no a/c in the rooms making it very difficult to sleep and the beds were very uncomfortable.

Nice out of the way location if you want to get away from civilization and unwind. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Food was excellent, but portions were very small.

So much potential, but overall disappointing

I was really looking forward to stay in this hostel but was super disappointed. The scenery is outstanding, but that's about it. There is no extra thought about would could make the stay comfortable for the guests: no kitchen, no info on the are, super (!) basic common areas, no sun beds/hammocks or basically anywhere comfortable to just sit and enjoy the lake. Lake is around 5-7 minutes walking from the hostel, which is fine but not verysuitable for people with disabilities. The room was very basic, the service in the restaurant was extremely slow and the food, at least the vegeterain options, was not worth the price (21 euros). Overall, in my opinion, the place isn't worth the cost and grueling drive, unless you come with kids and expect a basic stay. .

Amazing location and surroundings, nice owner who agreed to let me cancel two nights without any cancelation fee.

Great place to slow down and relax from your grind

This is a kind of a commune of some sorts, so things are "relaxed". Things were still being built so there were construction sites around (but not working, so no noise). There are animals like donkeys, which is great. Not so great is that they roam all over the place so they did a mess of the garbage one night with all the noise that did, with no intervention from the owners, so half the night was disturbed with this.

Excellent place to relax and do nothing more than enjoy the time go by slowly. Almost no cell coverage, no wifi and the lake close by. The food was also good. A magnificent night sky can be observed, weather permitting, but this is not something the owners thought of exploring so there's no place where you could just sit (lay) down and enjoy this unless you brought your own gear. The almost complete darkness of the place was awesome.

The rooms were very hot with no air-conditioning available.

The location is fantastic next to a beautiful lake. The stone buildings are attractive. It is very isolated (20mins on steep and narrow access road). The restaurant food was good.
