Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceOn my first morning the breakfast was a buffet( chorizos, jamon de Teruel, cheese, etc) ... then the next day it was just one plate ... still a hefty one though .. unlimited coffee. The Albergue reminded me of accomodations on the Camino de Santiago... fellow travellers are friendly and approachable but some travellers might need space so this is not the place to stay if you want to have your own 'space' . Bathrooms are also common along the corridor . Albarracin is also only accessible by car . I drove all the way from the south of France to Albarracin . It was long so the 1st night I stayed at Zaragoza (check out my review of Hotel Sauce) . There are no direct train lines nor did I see any buses at the parking lots ... just cars . So I'd imagine it would be difficult for someone who doesn't drive to get there.
The location was perfect since the Albergue was in the middle of the medieval walled city with great views from the windows . I only paid 23 euros a night for a bunk bed and it included a free breakfast. I went to Albarracin on a bouldering climbing trip . The boulders were a 5 to 8 minute drive from the city centre. There is a climbing shop just outside of town on the way to the bouldering site where you can rent crash pads ( sofa boulder ) and buy chalk, chalk bags, brushes, climbing shoes etc . On my first night there was also a free concert featuring a Galician folk band on the main plaza of the town . Had quite a few drinks that night so I had to lower my expectations on 'sending' my routes on the boulders the next day . As to the bouldering .... I am really a sport climber who prefers to climb with ropes outside and when I do boulder it's usually indoors . I like climbing alone in our local gym using the auto belay system ... so I when I was in Albarracin I was looking for low ball problems that have zero risk of serious injury ( V0's to V2's ) .. I think it's better to come with your usual belay partner ( if you want to climb hard ) to spot you here . I came alone but I bumped into a Canadian couple and a Polish climber ... my Spanish isn't that good so it was a blessing to find these three .........and we shared crash pads and beta . As for the Albergue, it's good value for money . 23 euros with a breakfast buffet ( 1st day) and there is a free parking near the cementary which is a 2 minute walk to the Albergue . There is also a quaint restaurant / bar just above the Albergue . It's called : la paroquia (the parish) or something where they serve local dishes ... I had 'la cierva' ( deer from the mountains of Albarracin) as my last meal.

ItalyA slight stench of mould or humidity in the lower floor (where the rooms and the toilets are located), I guess because of the age of the medieval building. Unfortunately there is no heating system in the room or the bathroom (no problem for sleeping, I was well covered with a double layer of covers; but exiting the shower was more challenging). Slight problems compared to the beauty of the location in this pictoresque town!
Position really excellent, in a historic building in the middle of old Albarracín (with some stunning views of the fortified town). From the hostel you can reach any turistic place just by walking. Staff very friendly and good breakfast. Though I booked for a shared 8 bunkbed room, I was the only guest, so the room was all for myself.

United StatesThe beds are not super comfy and for 25 euro a night...it just seems a little steep for what you get. also the showers are like 150% water pressure, and either super hot or super cold. Not really surprising given age of building.
Location was good, provided free breakfast which was tasty but limited. People that stayed there were super sweet. the people running the building were also nice.

CanadaIt would have been nice to have an area to spend time besides the dorm room. Even being able to utilize the dining area with tables and chairs would have been nice since the rainy weather made it necessary to spend more time in the hostal than I normally would have.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. As it was a little cold outside, I really appreciated the warm blankets. The dorms were not crowded as I have seen in other hostels. The breakfast was excellent.
