Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainUnfortunately, no cooker. There is a good modern microwave but no air frier which would have at least served as a cheap alternative
Staff, free breakfast included, location, fast Internet and everything is very clean

United KingdomThe dorms were usually cold Only one toilet/urinal available The showers had no doors, so no privacy No large lockers in the dorm Many comments say the same The check in is a big problem The website says 14:00 (late enough) but when I arrived the door was locked At 17:00, still locked I went to the nearby cafe, who immediately phoned the hostel (obviously done many times before) with a promise to come 'soon', twenty minutes later they arrived Really poor and needs a vast improvement
Near to the sites and sights, including the train and bus station A large common area and adequate kitchen Warm showers A basic breakfast provided including coffee

United KingdomWhen I arrived they let me in through the intercom but then nobody was at reception. I was not sure who worked there from the people sitting in the kitchen area. All the rooms are connected and only separated with a curtain or "wall", so if you're staying in the back room, you have to walk all through the other rooms, if staying in the front room you have to walk through all rooms to get to the bathroom.. I was staying in the middle room and people had to walk through my room to get to the kitchen area. There is no hob or oven in the kitchen but they do have an airfryer. The showers have no doors or curtains, gives off swimming pool vibes. Luckily I was the only female staying there but not sure how I'd feel taking a shower naked with other people walking in. Bit of a weird vibe from other people there, not sure if they were guests or friends. The beds are covered in blue plastic and makes it feel a bit like a prison bed. Only light is the bed light so when you first enter it's pitch black until you get to your bed.
The location is good as close to the train and bus station. Breakfast is included which is a nice touch albeit is cereal and bread. Staff seemed nice enough.

SpainI had to wait until 10pm for someone to check me in, there wasn't even a member of staff to explain to me how things worked and one of the guests told me that I could just choose any bed from any room and settle in. The accommodation had cupboards that were locked with a sort of coded key, but it didn't work so we simply closed the cupboard door and trusted that no one would steal from us. The water in the shower takes a while to heat up but it's not super hot either. Furthermore, I missed clocks in the bathroom and kitchen.
I was surprised that they had breakfast included because I didn't pay attention to that when I booked. The place is clean and well located. The bedding smells great. Each bed has an outlet and a lamp.

ItalyIt would be useful to add some hooks near the beds for hanging clothes. There is only one WC in the shared bathroom for men and it might not be enough when the hostel is full. No curtains in the shower stalls.
Good hostel in a quiet area and not too far from the center. Friendly and helpful owner. To park the car there are some parking spaces along the road in front of the hostel. The room, the shared bathroom and the common area were clean. Each bed is equipped with a socket (Very important), a light and a locker with key. Bed sheets are included in the price, while you have to bring your own towel. Free coffee, milk and tee are provided in the common kitchen.

SpainFrom my point of view there are not enough toilets taking into account the number of beds. And the showers were not so comfy 😟

Puerto RicoI hate to complain, but I really wish the female bathroom shower stalls had curtains. The bathroom design leaves you feeling completely exposed to anyone who decides to walk in.
The best thing about this place is the location. It's about a 9 min walk from the train station and not far to the bridges to cross over to the Casco Historico.

SpainThe shared toilet didn't have a lock and it was a bit difficult to close the door, which felt like I didn't have some sense of privacy. Good thing there was only one other guest at that time.
The staff was nice, the bed was comfy, and the location was quite convenient because it's close to the river and also the bus and train station. I didn't actually expect that the breakfast was going to be free because it wasn't indicated in the reservation.

GermanyCristian is an helpful guy but he is very rarely in the hostel and does not speak English. For a better communication, I used whatsapp. For instance, you can not even turn on and off the light of the sleeping hall because it is automatically controlled. Also it takes relatively long time to get hot water in the shower.
Location is good, and among the choices this hostel was a reasonable one. There is also a breakfast included. The hostel was also very clean (mostly I was the only customer).

SpainThe place was really cold and it took a good while for the water to heat up. The bunk beds didn't have curtains for privacy nor the shower area had curtains or dividers for that. I get that it's a hostel but it'd be good to have some of those.
The staff was amazing and really went out of their way to attend to all my requests, which more than made up for the stuff they were lacking. And FREE BREAKFAST

ItalyIt looked kind of spectral, with those huge rooms and almost nobody else. Doesn't exist privacy of course, and it's enough another person in the room to need ear plugs because beds are not really silent and rooms very big. Maybe because it was Saturday, but there wasn't anyone of the staff and I had to wait quite a lot. No towel. Safe boxes quite small and a bit complicated to setup. "Plastic mattresses", not the maximum comfort, but cleaner.
It was clean and new, probably it's perfect for a football team or a school.
