How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

On arrival they were very busy, we were allocated a twin room, which we asked to change and that was fine.
Flexibility we were travelling with a small dog and were allowed to eat in the bar, breakfast the reception gave us a tray to get food from the restaurant

Beginning to look tired, needs a decoration refresh.
Excellent location just off main route from South of Spain to ferry at Bilbao in north. Good parking at property. Food available and good value though basic. Quiet at night in spite of easy access to main road.

Everything was fine.
Helpful staff and a bar onsite. It was a convenient stopover for our long trip to Santander Ferry Port.

The room was reasonable comfortable but there was far too much noise which affected our sleep. We were above the restaurant which had a very noisy fridge that came on during the night and there were people in the next room who talked very loudly and which included a person from another room in there until after midnight. They also had dogs which yapped.
Breakfast and dinner were good value for money. All of the staff were friendly with the exception of the rude person at check in who was also unfriendly to someone on the phone while we waited.

Bedding not good. Needs duvet and decent pillows. Pillow hard to sleep on. Bathroom needs updating but functional

I found the bed and pillows a little uncomfortable
Hotel perfect location for travelling from costa Blanca to Ferries, pet friendly, pleasently decorated room , hotel clean sparkling and staff very friendly.

Clean & tidy. All staff were very friendly & pleasant. Plenty of park. Just off the main road. Ideal stop off point for the ferry at Santander.

Hotel a little tired in places, but would definitely stay again
Very clean and comfortable. Bar food a little limited, but good and very reasonably priced. Lovely friendly service in the bar.

Great stopover on way to Bilbao ferry, pet friendly, lovely walks along the river for the dog! Cafe bar open so can get a meal without waiting for the restaurant to open at 8 pm. Good wifi in the rooms!

Heating in the public area could have been better.

We felt the whole place is very dated now. Been coming here for 14 years on way to Ferry, but the hotel needs updating. It was cold in the bar and the reception area.
The bar was nice, the food was fine. Bedroom was clean and bed was OK.

Very noisy through the night with doors banging & noisy guests. Woken up at 2am & 4am - got up & set off on our drive South at 4.30am. This isn’t the fault of the hotel. No kettle in room.
Good location whilst travelling down to the Costa Del Sol. Dog friendly. Nice bar & restaurant and friendly staff.

There was nothing we did not like !
Stopped at this hotel in December on our way down south from Santander & again yesterday on our return journey to Santander . We gave two dogs and this stop is ideal - just off the motorway and we and our dogs were roundly welcomed, dogs allowed in bar ! It’s not fancy , bit old fashioned but very comfortable beds and dinner was very good and great value . The town itself is worth having a Walk around - very interesting !

No tea/coffee making facility in the room
Very convenient location just off the motorway on the main route when travelling north to the ferry ports. Dog friendly. Choice of nice restaurant or Barr food. Very pleasant staff
