Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNothing, everything was absolutely perfect!
Our stay was truly amazing! The position is very calm and you have a great view. The hotel itself does not have many rooms which makes it more intimate and cozy. We stayed in the Tindaya room, and it had everything you could need (hair dryer, soaps, minibar, television etc.). The bed was extremely comfortable. Laura, the host, was wonderful! She provided us with numerous recommendations for both island attractions and restaurants. Thanks to her suggestions, we enjoyed delicious meals throughout our entire stay in Fuerteventura and had the opportunity to explore the island far beyond what we would have achieved solely through guidebooks. Despite it being our first time staying with Laura, she effortlessly made us feel at home. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and inviting, we had the impression we were visiting an aunt living abroad. The breakfast was included and every morning Laura prepared a freshly made breakfast with so many different items (homemade bread/cakes/cookies, fresh fruit, coffee, smoothies, cheese, ...). Everything was absolutely delicious and we cherished the morning conversations with her. As we stayed from December 28th to January 3rd we were asked if we wanted to celebrate the beginning of 2024 with Laura and the other guests staying at the hotel. This was a lovely experience, as she organized a New Year's Eve dinner with traditional food from Italy and Spain. It was a great way to kick off 2024 and everyone had lots of fun! We highly recommend visiting Alma Calma Hotel Rural! We will be returning 100%. Grazie di cuore zia Laura per tutto quello che hai fatto per noi!! A presto!!

IrelandExceptional in every way. We stayed in the Tindaya room which felt incredibly private and calm, with its own outdoor seating and hammock space for stargazing, lounging, reading a book, etc. We took advantage of the gorgeous views and sunshine on the pool deck to enjoy a vista of the sea, mountains, and desert. The hosts are kind and helpful, and have crafted a truly unique boutique experience. The breakfast is gorgeous with many homemade items, prepared fresh to order including a vibrant juice and beautifully prepared breads. Honestly we couldn't have asked for anything more. It's clear that a great deal of care has gone into this little slice of minimalist luxury, from the comfort of the rooms (large showers, wonderful bed, amazing little soaps and details) to the warm welcome upon arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend the Alma Calma to anyone visiting Fuerteventura.

United KingdomWith only 4 rooms we and our fellow travellers were welcomed as house guests. Laura gave us a wonderful breakfast each morning: fruits, eggs , cheese, ham and homemade bread and cakes every day. Laura gave us suggestions of places to go and restaurant recommendations each day , and encouraged us to message if we needed anything at any time. Twice a week Laura and Massimiliano cook for their guests and we enjoyed a relaxed feast together. The view is stunning and the area so quiet that it was difficult not to absorb the Calma. We hope to return!

GermanyWe spent 10 nights in Tindaya, Alma Calma, with Laura and Massimiliano and what can we say? It was fantastic! They run the small hotel with so much love and dedication and it was incredibly relaxing and cosy. Away from the well-known mass tourism on Fuerteventura, this is a wonderful place to spend a holiday. Equipped with an off-road hire car, you can explore the many remote and beautiful beaches and spots as well as all the sights of the island. The same applies to extensive road bike tours and runs. Dear Laura, dear Massimilliano, you are two wonderful people and have created a little paradise for yourselves - stay the way you are! All the best for you and we will be very, very happy to come back!

GermanyWe had the best experience at Alma Calma, the ideal paradise off the beaten track where you can rest, relax and recharge your batteries. The hotel was beautifully and lovingly restored by Laura and Massimiliano, and you can see their passion for what they do in every corner of every room. If you are looking for the perfect place to genuinely experience Fuerteventura (not as a typical tourist) this is it! We felt at home with these amazing hosts who took the time every day to give us amazing tips and itineraries that were tailored exactly to what we wanted to see and do. Their attention to detail and love of the island shone through and ensured that we had one of the best vacations we’ve ever been on. Breakfast and special dinners were also delicious and homemade. We can’t recommend this wonderful place enough and we will definitely be going back soon for another visit!

SwitzerlandMinimalistic architecture is great and stylish but a few more shelves would make it more comfortable, especially for longer stays with more luggage / photography equipment ;-)
Fantastic atmosphere and a heaven for nature lovers, away from touristy areas. Laura and Massimiliano were amazing hosts, very warm, friendly and helpful. We felt like home, despite being in vacation. Delicious breakfasts with fresh fruits from the garden, as well as great dinners, everything home made. Beautiful garden and sunset views. Also a great chance to meet like-minded travellers interested in nature and sustainable travel.

Our room was well planned and provided everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent being plentiful and of high quality, including lots of home made produce. GermanyIt‘s a rural hotel in a mountain village- we loved that but could be difficult for people without a rental car.
The nomination for the GRINN award 2022 (best sustainable hotel rural) is justified! Perfect hosts who provide a home away from home! Amazing breakfast with cake, omelette, cappuccino,.. Laura also takes your eating habits and allergies into account (vegetarian here) and her one rule is, to ask her anything:) They borrowed us a beach umbrella and beach towels and Laura gives great advice on what places to visit and what restaurants to go to. It’s like staying with friends. The whole place is very ecologically sustainable, which we loved. We also loved their dog Tiki:) 100% recommendation!
