Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis property had a lot of character and it was fun to use a community room with a kitchen. We met nice people and shared travel stories. It is close to Granada and a great experience with breakfast at an old converted grain mill. The owner could not have been nicer. Make sure to check and see if the restaurant will be open for dinner

SpainThe only negative in our stay was that the bed was way too soft and not very comfortable. The rest was fantastic
This place has everything you need to relax in the mountains and the staff is really attentive to every detail. The rooms are big and airy, surrounded by greenery. Special mention to the wonderful restaurant and the massage service, both of extremely good quality.

RomaniaIt's a location best suited for summer season (garden, restaurant terrace). We would have liked to see it in full season, our visit was in February 20024. Maybe next time when we will surely try the restuarant too.
Very nice location, quiet and original. Gas station and supermarket 5 min away, Granada 20 min drive. We had room no 8, I really appreciated the rural style and the shower design. The owner is very nice, communicates very well in fluent English.

IrelandEhmmmmm. Can't think of anything.
The rooms are full of character, but still very comfortable, the shower was excellent, the food in the restaurant is top class. There is plenty of parking onsite and the staff were lovely. What more do you want?

United KingdomAs we stayed in January it's very quiet and we couldn't find anywhere to eat in the village as everything was closed including the in house restaurant. Luckily we found a supermarket in the village and made sandwiches. The owners didn't offer any advice on this when asked, we thought we could eat in the restaurant if nowhere else.
The location is fabulous 5 minutes walk to Niguelas village. The room was very cosy and Spanish style which we love. Breakfast in the old mill was really nice but you do pay extra and its more than 4 euros depending on what you have.

United KingdomThe hotel and people are absolutely lovely. The only 1 thing I will say here, and that is more of an advice for the hardcore brits and applies to the whole area. Bring your own tea bags. And order hot water, and then milk. It is impossible to order black tea with milk (unless you want black tea leaves swimming in milk).
The bed is super comfy. Very lovely surroundings and outside space. Rooms were good size.

PortugalThe place is located 20min from Granada, so not ideal for someone who is there to specifically visit the city.
The place is a small rural hotel, the rooms are located in a garden, so everything is calm and rustic. The room was lovely, with comfortable beds and a beautiful shower. The pool was very nice, facing the sun.

United KingdomIt was very difficult to find and some of the streets in the town were very narrow
The setting of the place was very good. The views were wonderful. There is an outdoor pool and a hammam and a jacuzzi on site. The restaurant and bar were very good and there was a good choice of food all sourced locally.

United KingdomWe ate a meal in the restaurant, which was expensive but looked like it might be high quality so I was looking forward to my meal. The setting was gorgeous. It was barbecue night when we arrived. The food I cannot highly rate, the salad was dry and my meat was extremely dry and tough, but perhaps I was just unlucky that day
The room was delightful. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The gardens and pool were lovely...as was the setting of the restaurant. I loved sitting under the arches outside my room. There were mosquito blinds on the windows so we could sleep with them open. There's also air conditioning for anyone who prefers that. I highly recommend staying here.

United KingdomNothing really to not like. If I was going to be really picky then breakfast service is slow. Top tip:order everything you want right away. But this was only a problem on the first morning when we were in a rush because we had tickets for the alhambra. The other mornings we were happy to have a Lento breakfast, after all it's name translated is slow farmhouse
So much better than even the pictures made it seem. So pretty, so peaceful, well appointed rooms wth everything you need. Lovely grounds. Restaurant not cheap but well worth it. Staff so lovely and welcoming. Didn't use the hamam, at 38° that was not something we considered! Local village of Nigüelas was just a short walk and had lovely bars to while away the evening. Breakfast was not cheap but as long as you have time then it's well worth it.

What a surprise, my husband and I like quiet areas in beautiful countryside and gardens, never expected anything quite like this. Amazing gardens with beautiful grass, well kept lush grass, not seen by us before in southern Spain, flowering wisteria climbing the walls outside our accommodation and lavender and nasturtiums in full flower. I can not describe how much the rooms, and surrounding outside countryside space were like. You need to be there in order to experience how magical this hotel is. What an incredible place this Belgian and Dutch couple and their children have created. We'll done x

United KingdomNo food is served Monday or Tuesday so you have to walk into the town, about 12min, if you want a drink, along cobbled streets and usual Spanish footpaths. We weren't initially given the room we booked and had to point this out.
There was initially a problem but Christophe sorted it quickly and efficiently. Breakfast was great and the staff very friendly. Parking is good for cars but not for Motorbikes as gravel is used.

United KingdomGreat location on the edge of the village. The owners were very helpful and collected us from the bus stop on the main road. Lovely peaceful rooms with beautiful Andalusian style showers. We enjoyed watching the fish in the pond outside our room and sitting in the sunshine - in February! Great mountain views. Niguelas is a quiet village but Durcal is only about 20 minutes walk away and has more facilities. Lovely breakfast in the old mill.
