How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Price is quite high.
The door opened with a code so the check in was very easy. The location was awesome. The apartment is equipped with a big fridge, micro wave, cooker, a boiler for water and a dolce gusto coffee machine. Capsules were provided too. The location is very central and you have all kind of shops , bars and restaurants. The double sound isolation was great and we could not hear anything from the street. Everyday the apt was cleaned by room maids. The bathroom was spacious and the air was well recycled. The shower was an italian shower and very comfortable. All in all it was a great experience even if it was a bit pricy. There are many parking around but the cost between 17 and 30 euros for 24 hours. The red tourist buses start their itinerary very close to the apt. The plaza Cataluyna is 5 walking minutes away.

It was so close to everything, you have coffee shops and restaurants and grocery stores right there . The apartment was so clean and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay.

I checked in online and received codes to access the property. This worked brilliantly and the accommodation is in a great location, two metro stations are within a couple of minutes walking distance as well. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed for our break. There is a lift if you don’t want to climb the stairs.

Wifi was a bit slow at start but overall good. Paying outside app.
Easy contact with staff, especially friendly Leidy. Check in easy and recommendations good. Bag store. Clean and comfortable apartment, good sound proofing. Great shower. Perfect location close to everything.

The location is great, a few steps from La Ramble. The apartment is very safe, check in is very easy. You have all you need in the apartment.

There's nothing we didn't like
The location is great. You're a five minute walk from Las Ramblas, there are several train stations just metres away, it's easy to get to the tourist attractions from the apartment.

Some traffic noise at certain times of day, but what do you expect, you’re in downtown Barcelona! There was never anyone on reception physically in the time we were there which felt a little odd, so there was quite a bit that you had to work out for yourself.
Fantastic location and very central, a big, comfortable apartment. A nice quiet building.

Wonderful apartment! Top location - only 200 m from La Rambla. Everything was very clean and comfortable! The apartment is very quiet and cozy. Thanks to the girl at the reception! She was very nice. I highly recommend Amister Apartment!

Only slight issue was the bedroom/partition, as described.
Great location. Good shower. Plenty of space. We were a family of 4 adults. The bedroom is a partition in the main room which was fine for us but not sure it would work for, say, two couples??

The sliding door to the ensuite was very close to the bed and when you turn on the light the fan comes on as well with no way to turn it off. A small night light near the toilet would have been handy for night time.
Happy to have space to spread out. All windows had external electric operated shutters good for keeping out the lights and noise from the street at night. There was a starter pack for the sink/dishwasher - could do with a starter pack of coffee/tea/sugar. On site office staff were very helpful and fixed the problem with the safe straight away and also got me the correct pods for the coffee machine. Thank you.

It wasn’t a problem for us but the bedroom wasn’t really a separate room. There was a divider curtain between the bedroom and the living room. This may be an issue for some.
The location was super. So central. The apartment was very small but extremely well laid out and had everything we needed.

Do not use the stairs! Rather hard to find the correct apartment, but the elevator takes you to right place:)

The string fragrance/perfume they sprayed in the hallways of the apartment
