How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It was all good but I couldn’t get the dishwasher to work on the morning we left.
A spacious apartment near the main beach in Cádiz. Great view over the city from the lounge and of the beach from two of the bedrooms. Comfortable beds and lounge furniture. Alfonso was very helpful and took us to the nearby parking space in a secure garage. He told us about some good restaurants not far from the apartment and also at the central market.

Alfonso is a very gracious host. He met us at the apartment, showed us where to park and made check in a breeze. The apartment is large and very comfortable.

Honestly, I was a little sketched out that you can't put toilet paper down the toilet and it has to be put into a trash can. Only because this is a really old building that has been redone and plumbing is an issue, I think.
we texted and someone helped us get to where we needed to be. It was a little hard to find, but we are new to country, so I can't fault them for that! Apartment was beautiful and very very clean!

Water in the shower changed between boiling hot and ice cold, so having a shower was a bit of an experience.
Loved the location. We felt very at home. The views were amazing and it was set up that we could socialise in the lounge. Alfonso was amazing as well, really helpful.

There was nothing we didn’t like but just a suggestion to get a stopper for the kitchen sink.
I would strongly recommend this property which is well located at the edge of the Old Town adjacent to the sea & the cycleway.

A bit more expensive than other similar options. Mattress in the main bedroom was a little curved in the middle which was not comfortable but not a deal breaker considering how amazing the rest of the apartment is :-)
Perfect size apartment for 4 people with 3 bedrooms. Location was amazing, walking distance to every single sight, the beach and restaurants. The host Alfonso was great, providing all details of the apartment as well as tips on what to see in the days we spent in Cadiz.

A bit more care taken in cleaning the shower area. An area in the bathroom to place one's toiletries would be very useful. On Saturday night, there was a bit of noise from one of the neighbor´s before and after midnight which we could have done without.
We meet the owner to collect the keys. He guided us to the parking which was in a nearby, secure, shared garage. Easy driving access to apartment off of the south circular road of Cádiz. The kitchen looked well enough with a large fridge freezer, however, we didn´t cook so unable to give an account of those facilities. We did use the television and that was good. Sofa comfortable and adequate to seat 5 or 6 people, we were only two, so a sofa each! Beds comfortable.

Location was right on the sea front. Several bars were close by. The apartment was very spacious and very well equipped. The host, Alfonso, explained everything to us in detail and was very helpful with recommendations of things to do and see

Everything was great!
Apartamento Fenicia was the perfect place to stay in Cadiz - it was clean, with comfortable beds, and had everything you needed for a great stay, including parking. The location was fantastic, right by the beach and an easy walk to the old town. The views from the apartment are spectacular, and the host Alfonso is amazing - extremely helpful and kind with lots of great advice about things to do and places to eat, 10/10!
