How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The kitching was lacking some cleaning basics like dish soap, dishwasher tablets, cleaning cloth, etc. The pillows were not comfy.
A spacious apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Great location.

There should be more than 1 garbage bag for a few days of stay. The sink drain in the main bathroom is clogged and there is an unpleasant smell from the shower drain in the en suite.
Large spacious apartment. Everything you need inside. Close to the center, restaurants, bars.

I would have liked a larger balcony but to be honest I was thankful to have one! We sat out in the evenings with 3 of us.

Could not fault this apartment, would definitely stay again.
Excellent Location on La Rambla, in the centre of all the bars, restaurants and attractions. 10mins to Harbour front/Beach. Fantastic, spacious Apartment, has everything you need, clean, home from home. Large comfy bed, dressing room, walk-in shower.

Nothing we didn’t like
The property was spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you would need. The location was spot on, close to everything including a short walk to the beach. The communication with the host before and during our stay was great.

The frying pans were worn out, same as the sofa but you could still lie and sit there.
The flat was decorated very well, I think it was better in real life than in the pictures. Wifi was working well for two people to work remotely. The location was great but still quiet at the night time. Instructions for the key pick up were clear. I would say this has been the best apartment I have ever stayed at.

It was cold, it took us a couple of days to warm it up once we found the instructions of the air-con unit online. The ensuite smelled like damp, probably because it wasn’t used for a while, things that can be easily fixed anyway.
The space and the location were great, the rooms were big and the bathrooms were clean and good.

Nothing. It was the perfect break.
Brilliant location around plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. A short walk down to the beach front. Accommodation was excellent. Lovely apartment done to a high standard. Spacious, clean and modern. The apartment looks as good as the photos which is not always the case.

The elusive cutlery drawer - it is located within a bigger drawer at the top, a bit hidden away! A few more cleaning products (bottle of washing up liquid, anti-bac spray etc) would have been useful.
Lucky Flats Liorna is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The flat is enormous, centrally located and very comfortable. It had everything we needed for a mini break and if we were staying longer, the Mercadona is nearby to stock up. Although situated on a busy street, the bedrooms are at the back and silent and pitch black during the night. Getting the keys was easy although we had a brief mix up but this was resolved in less than 5 minutes by contacting the host. We'll definitely be staying here again.

Communication was... not very active. When we made the booking, they promised to send check-in info the day before our arrival - nothing. On the day of our arrival we sent multiple messages (no answer) and made several phone calls trying to reach the owner. Finally got the keys to the apartment after some extra hassle around 4 pm and info e-mail how to find the apartment, get the keys etc. at 16.24... Travelling with kids it would have been nice to get all the info a little bit earlier.
Apartment was spacious and clean, a little bit ascetic maybe, but there is everything you need for a short stay. Central heating is very nice in the wintertime. Location is good, restaurants, castle, beach etc. within walking distance. Good choice in Alicante if you are ready to be active yourself in communication with the owner.
