Time and time again, the language barrier doesn't make it easy to travel around Spain. Nobody speaks English! But otherwise the place was perfect and I wish I could stay for longer.

The location was stunning, I loved that we could use the pool, the hosts were friendly and helpful. It was lovely to have our meals on the balcony, and the size of the flat was big, including the double bed which was perfectly big for me and my partner - we love our own space in the bed!

if you’re on a motorcycle bear in mind parking is going to be on a hill and also the entrance to the property is via a tiny exit of a roundabout which immediately leads to a steep incline

The lady that owns the apartments is very friendly and helpful. The area for the kids to play is great and out side kitchen is out of this world.

We loved the location, views from apartment are excellent, too. Bare in mind we travelled in October, in a low season. That´s why we enjoyed the silence. If you travel in a high season, be prepared that this place may be popular for families with children ( a lot of toys and playgrounds prepared for them). We like quiet, not crowded places, that´s why we were happy with our choice with this apartment.

Could do with a kettle, had to use a pan

We had stayed in these apartments a few years back and really enjoyed them,this time we were moved across to the sister apartment Alhambra(200metres away)this was better as it had underground parking for our motorcycles, which we were really pleased with, it’s just over a mile walk into town, facilities were good, bbq area, sun loungers 2 bathrooms,washing machine fridge freezer, microwave I would definitely come back here as my first choice

Accommodation was functional. Many hiking trails to do in the area. Picos de Europa are breathtaking. Staff was discreet and the other customers quiet. Great place for couples and families.

Very peaceful place, the swimming pool was great after a full day hiking! The hosts kindly provided us with detergent for us to use the washing machine as we were only staying a few days, it was very nice of them. This is a perfect place for family vacations!

There was dog and cat poop everywhere, even between the toys. Although they clean the sharedroom the poop between the toys stayed for two days untill we cleaned it. In the plants in the shared room there was already mold on the poop, so it had been there for a while. The jaccuzi was broken (if i see the reviews already a month).I contacted before to check if we could use it and they first said we could use it, but after I booked they said it was not possible to use. They denied that they would have said that we could use it. Also they gave us as alternative discountvouchers to use nearby, but arriving there they said it was not possible to go there with children under six. They didn't react anymore, so very bad service.

The lady at location was very nice, environment beautifull and there were a lot of toys for the children

The kitchen was basic. If one had actually wanted to cook serious meals it would have been very limiting equipment-wise. No plugs for bath and kitchen since. Soundproofing virtually non-existent

Peaceful location. Easy access to Potes, but out of the crush. Well set up for families with children (not us now!).

Arrived to find it seems we weren't expected. Language issues meant we hadn't a clue what was happening. Put in a 2 bed apartment instead, in the old building. It was dingy, in need of modernisation and dark with no sunlight. Bed had a plastic coated undersheet which made us very uncomfortable. Several cobwebs, rusty items in places and, overall, not as good as the reviews.

Hidden location, beautiful, well maintained grounds, lovely views. Great shared areas if you need them, lots of children's toys/bikes etc.

Self catering is a bit of a stretch with two induction rings and no oven in an apartment for 6. And 3/5 pans provided didn’t work on induction but we got by. No corkscrew was almost a deal breaker but we rectified that!

Appartment building is noisy. You van hear the neighbor showering and using the toilet as if they are in your very bedroom. We were put in a building 200+ meters from the mail building. Not very convenient for using pool and other facilities. But relatively quiet.

Beautiful views up and down the valley. Good swimming pool. Underground parking kept car cool .

You share the complex with other people, group of families and friends. It is very noisy and if you travel in orther to take some days off for restting this is not helpul. It would have been good that the host had provided with silent hours for everyone. Sleep was hard becase at midnight for example were kids using the pool. The room and the bed was a bit small and I did my book few months ago, I expected a better room.

The Location, the host and the terrace. The room is perfect for a couple because is small and have a small kitchen that you can use and common areas.

Language was an issue on both sides. There was no written information available from the Hotel in different Languages this would have made for a smoother experience. There was no Plugs for the sinks. There was a Kitchen but we couldn't find a Corkscrew for our fine bottle of Vino and was limited to what you could do in the kitchen due to being a very small room.

Pool & Location

As beautiful as the complex looks on the outside, so run down was our so called "superior" studio apartment. Just very run down, old and not very clean. In desperate need of an update I would say. Worst of all are the paper thin walls between the apartments. You can hear everything that´s going on next door. If the neighbours watch a movie until late at night, you will not be able to go to sleep. Alquitara also provides accommodation for groups of bikers. That should not be a problem when they behave themselves, but if they party on the inner court until well into the night, now that IS a problem. No management on site it seems, to tell the party animals to stop.

The Alquitara complex looks really stunning from the outside. Nice, old buildings and a garden loaded with al sorts of flowers. Handy -free- parking on site. We had a studio apartment (3th floor-no lift) with a little balcony with stunning views all around. It is an excellent location for trips in the Picos de Europa and the lovely village of Potes.

Apartment old fashioned, no sufficient ligth, and there was a view from the window but not a terrace to enjoy it. For me the view was the most important aspect and I was disappointed because I paid extra for it.

Excellent location, I think it is a good place for families in the summer
