Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomthe hotel was very quiet when we went, only 1 restaurant open during the day and didn’t cater well for children. Food was not allowed by the pool so the kids couldn’t snack when hungry. Also on Thursday night there was an event in the hotel with very loud pumping house music until 11pm that could be heard even when all the windows were closed
the hotel and apartment were excellent although it could be a bit better equipped in the kitchen with utensils

SwitzerlandReception staff quite incompetent. We were given a sheet with activities for the previous week, which did not correspond to.our week. The sheet said the Irish Pub and Bowling were open from 9pm. We asked at Reception, who said it was from 8pm. It did not open at 8, nor at 9. We ordered a taxi at reception for the following morning at 9 am. The taxi did not come. It became clear that Reception had never ordered the taxi (although they never admitted it, nor apologised). Restaurant service very slow and incomptent, with dishes served in random order.
Beautiful remote coastal location with long, sandy beach. Classy designer architectural hotel. Fabulous hotel gardens. Superb apartment with jacuzzi on roof terrace. Cleaning and jacuzzi servicing staff really efficient and discreet. Superb restaurant El Cuartel del Mar just next door.

United StatesThe property was slightly tricky to find as it’s tucked away behind the Hideaway Hotel, so on our initial attempt to find the entrance it took our taxi driver extra effort to find - he ended up calling to find the entrance - could use a bit more details on how to find the address for new visitors
This resort is in a wonderful location easy walk to the beach lots of swimming pools to choose from restaurants right on site as well as easy access to the restaurants down on the beach

NetherlandsThe only comment is that the kitchen lacked some equipment. A tray, a couple of serving platters and a large chopping board would have been very useful.
Location was great right by a lovely big beach with some beach bars. The hotel itself is really beautifully landscaped - super green with five pools with a lot of loungers and a choice of restaurants. We ate at the buffet several times as the choice was extensive so it was easy for everyone to have what they wanted. We had a luxury two bedroom apartment which was very spacious with beautiful views, super quiet at night and a lot of privacy on the terrace. We used the spa area one afternoon and it is very well equipped and spacious.

SingaporeKitchen could be better stocked and a full room service option would be useful.
The quality and comforts of our 3 bedroom apartment were perfect for our family of 7. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was exactly what we needed. We loved having the resort facilities on our doorstep and yet all the trappings of a home and garden for us to enjoy. Fresh pool towels daily and cleaning schedule was perfect and staff were lovely and friendly and happy to procure items we needed.

SwitzerlandThe water in the pools was rather cold. There was no pool for younger kids / babies. We were very happy on the beach, but I can imagine that some may miss that. Kitchen was decently equipped. Although it didn’t have a kettle or a large chopping board. There was no small shop on site for water, etc. So if you don’t have a car, the walk to the next shopt is a bit of a stretch
The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and had a good layout. Very clean and bright. Ours was on the ground floor, perfect for us with a 3yr old. The gardens are truly lovely and provide a lot of privacy. Two pools are fenced in, so kids can run around without being worried about falling in. Breakfast buffet was great and varied, something for everyone. Did the buffet dinner 3x too, always different. Always delicious. The beach is fabulous, can’t rave enough. Spa treatments very good too.

BelgiumThe environment is relaxing and beautiful. So many palm trees and space helps to feel like there is few people with you there, always space in the pools and jacuzzi areas .Very close by walk to one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen with white small sand. All with sunshine almost guaranteed during every week of the Summer. Just Paradise ! We’ll come back 👍

IrelandThere was no kettle in the property which for self catering is unusual as most people enjoy a tea or coffee in the morning.
Property was situated within walking distance from a beautiful beach and the garden and pool area was stunning. The apartments are clean and modern and have all the necessary mod cons. There are fantastic restaurants about a 5-10 min drive from the complex in Novo Sancti Petri.

Gibraltarmaybe we should have asked, but we wanted coffee in the mornings (before 9.30am) and the main restaurants were closed. only the buffet breakfast was open and we had not paid for breakfast. we went to the pool restaurants but they all were not yet open so we could not have our morning coffee. is there a way to get coffee?
we loved the room and the location within the resort - it's a very large resort and we luckily got a room on the ground floor, with a short 20m walk to the lower pool. I wish we can always get a room like this as we would prefer to get this type of room rather than the ones on the side looking at Cuartel.

Gibraltar2 things: 1- The beds we had were rock solid, to the point we didnt really sleep enough to rest. 2- My kids are 14 & 15, they are charged as adults for the buffet which i think we 12 under, but the adult pool is 16+. The resort needs to decide how it sets its ages.
Super quiet and in immaculate condition.

PortugalIf you are staying at the apartment side is the resort, you are treated as second class citizens when in restaurants on the resort. We stayed here last eeek of March and most of the restaurants weren’t even open. Please manage expectations if people book your hotel when things are closed to avoid disappointment.
The location by the beach was great. Also, there were lots of amenities (ie restaurants etc). The room was spacious.

United KingdomLacked essentials, not much in the kitchen. Only small wine glasses. No champagne/ Prosecco glasses. No kettle. No microwave. No cereal bowls only larger dishes. Total hassle having to check in twice ie to apartment concierge and then hotel. Total hassle having to do the same on checkout. Mo welcome pack of tea bags/ milk or even washing up liquid. No shop on site. Therefore not ideal for a short stay and pretty impossible without a car. Restaurants also shut on a Sunday.

UruguayThe complex has no beach service. The swimming pools open at 11 am. For the size and cost of the flat, it has no basic appliances (kettler, iron, extra pillows). The cluttery was basic. A bit disappointed for the price.
Location was good and the property is very big. Rooms for the children and good access to the swimming pools.
