How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The staff were amazing, so much so that we've booked again. Jose is the kindest, most helpful staff we've come across in ages. Basic accommodation, but it has everything necessary and is close to great restaurants and amenities

The bed was a little soft but still managed to have a good sleep
It might be a budget hotel, but Everything about it was excellent . the location, friendly staff, cleanliness of the room and complimentary brekkie.

It’s a brilliant budget hotel with a very nice staff. Everything was as described, room was clean, bed was confortable, bathroom was clean and room service was very good.

No issues!
Dated but very clean, convenient location to access shops and bars/restaurants on foot. Room was nothing special but comfortable and clean, decent shower. Simple, tasty breakfast included in an already reasonable price. Every staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, pretty basic accommodation but excellent value for money.

The walls are thin and we were unfortunate to have a guy next to us who coughed a lot through out the night - But we put up with the disruption as we were only there for three nights, if it was longer we would have asked for a change of room

The included breakfast was not the best
For the price this was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful and I was travelling on motorcycle and they allowed me to keep it in their garage which was big plus.

A bit noisy from other guests mainly due to noisy water pipes and thin walls. Could do with duets for the beds.

Breakfast was very basic and I skipped most mornings. Staff on the desk were very pleasant.
The room was small but with a good sized en suite area. Air conditioning (on heat) came in handy as it was the cold the week before Christmas. It was more like a hostel than a hotel room (which is what I was expecting).

The only problem was the beds, they were very hard, but that was to be expected in this sort of property at this price.
The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for, ie just an overnight stay. The property although old and quite basic was very clean. Breakfast was included in the price, making it even better value for money. Parking was in the street and therefore FREE

For price and location I have no complaints.
It is a nice one star hotel. Clean. Good price. Not too far from the beach and with good bars and restaurants close by.

This is just a basic hotel but has everything I need I could pay 10 times the money for a top hotel but why I don't need all the bells and whistles just a nice comfortable bed in a very clean hotel

The shower sliding door didn't cover across all and caused the water to go on the bathroom floor, had to be careful not to slip. People staying next door to us were very noisy coming in after 1am but can't blame the hotel for their customers' ignorance.
Little fridge in the room was great to have and a double and a single bed was ideal for us, the option to use the ac or the fan as we don't always like to much ac and they were needed with it being so warm. Easy free parking right outside hotel.

Decor hasn't been updated for years. Breakfast as mentioned in previous reviews is basic but they make a good pot of English tea. There were prerapped small cakes or pastries.
Very friendly helpful Spanish family run business and helpful staff. If you needed anything like a kettle, extra plastic cups they were very willing to help. All the extra items that you find in the rooms of a higher star accommodation are available but you just need to ask the staff. Perfect location for buses, bars, restaurants and easy 20 min walk to the beach.
