Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe thought the breakfast was a little rudimentary, though the fresh orange juice was fantastic.
Cádiz is absolutely gorgeous with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The Argantonio location is superb, being in the old town on a charming small street and an east stroll to everything. The hotel staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Such a beautiful hotel with lovely historic architecture, made even better by the wonderful staff who took great care of us. Fantastic breakfast in the morning, they also allowed us to stay another night and upgraded our room. We would definitely stay again!

AustraliaThe staff offered the same room for another night and I was unable to accept their offer due to my schedule. I would have liked the additional night there.
We had the junior suite. Would be better than the main suite, the receptionist also said her favourite of all the rooms. Nice having a separate shower and bath. An ideal location on the island city of Cádiz. The staff are very friendly, helpful and pleasant to talk to.

AustraliaNothing! It was great.😊
We loved Cadiz, and the Hotel Argentonio added to our wonderful experience. The decor is tasteful and the lounge area was so welcoming. The hotel is located just on the edge of the narrow streets, so it was easy to find and within walking distance to what we wanted to see. The staff, Daniel and Rosa, were very friendly, helpful, and gave us suggestions as to how to make the most of our short stay in Cadiz. A tip for those with a car: even though there is parking available at the hotel, our car was too big (and we are too inexperienced 😳) to navigate the narrow streets, so we parked nearby at a parking station, Canalejas, which was very easy to locate and a short stroll to the hotel.

United KingdomWe found the mattress was too hard for us and we would have preferred a toilet/bathroom that was separated fully from the bedroom.
Our room was amazing (Zenobia) with 2 little balconies. The staff were very welcoming and it was an excellent location both for accessing the railway station and for exploring Cadiz. It felt a privilege to stay in such a lovely characterful place.

United KingdomStruggling to think of anything!
The hotel has a Moroccan feel to it and is beautifully decorated. The staff are charming and professional and very attentive. Our room was spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are lovely. Its located very close to the cathedral and the surrounding area is generally flat, so easy access for people with mobility issues.

United KingdomWe did ask for a quiet room but on Saturdays nights it did become noisy, as we were on the first floor. The works on the new bar opposite the hotel were also audible quite early on the ,Monday morning.
Convenient location to see all the sights of Cadiz, and staff all very friendly.

United Kingdomwas wanting a twin room really as travelling with a friend. There obviously wasn't any available when booking in (I had requested this on booking months ago). Room ok though and we managed sharing. Only stayed one night on our way to another location. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel although we hired bikes which was good fun. However pedal fell off during our bike ride, we managed to find someone to temporarily fix so we could return to hotel. Staff were apologetic and refund the cost of hiring the bikes. We managed to enjoy the ride up to that point. My friends bike was ok.

United KingdomOnly one little thing was the day I arrived there was an unpleasant drain smell coming from the bathroom but that had disappeared the following morning!
This lovely little hotel is in an excellent location and was easy to find. When I checked in I was given a twin room but after a quick talk with the team they allocated me room 101 which has a lovely double bed! Lovely sized room and nice balcony looking out onto the street. I didn't experience any adverse noise during my 3 night stay! I didn't have breakfast at hotel so can't comment but the smell of the coffee in the morning was fabulous! Thank you so much guys, your hotel is just fabulous and I would stay here in a heartbeat next time I am in Cadiz

United Kingdomunfortunately 4 nights, barely any sleep . dreadful noise coming from next building, and noise of dog/s barking through until 3am then deliveries and more noise. building works and outside street noise bad too. moved for the last night from the lovely room at my request but was given a small inferior room with an uncomfortable bed, stuffy room , air con wouldn’t work, a shower that flooded the bathroom because it wouldn’t drain. left the hotel feeling a bit sad, and unwell tired, - paid a lot of money for this!
lovely hotel building. loved the decor and beautiful walls and floors. The staff were friendly and nice. the location was so good for walking straight into the city. the big room was beautiful to look at and the shower was great.

SpainIf you are bothered by street noise this is not the place for you. The first night we were surprised by all the noise ( rubbish collection mainly) but after that it didn't bother us.
The friendliness of Lucia when we first arrived, what a lovely welcoming reception. We didn't like our room( personal reasons, the room was fine) so we were given a different room which was lovely and comfortable. The hotel is beautifully decorated and near to everything, great location.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything we didn't like.
We loved everything about this charming hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we liked the location a lot. We were within easy walking distance to explore. Our room (no 307 'Zenobia') felt really special to be in. The bed was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was really good and we really appreciated the hotel's gorgeous decor. We hired bikes from the hotel which took us further afield to the waterfront overlooking the new bridge. Highly recommend!
