Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot keen on self check in and no secure parking. As there were no restaurant/ cafe on site it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room to make a drink.

AustraliaThe common room has no heating water purposes, no microwave, no fridge so lacks alot of many things you'd find in other hotels, pensions and even some albergues I have visited had a microwave. I would normally give this a 9 or 10 but it is also unmanned from a Host perspective (although they have people onsite during certain times of the day), but it is missing too many essential items to be called a Hotel, so I had to knock off some points.
Spacious, clean, safe and wonderful views above Bilbao city. There is a bush track that runs from the hotel down to the town but it does involve a good level of fitness. Great transport by Bilbo bus services (just get the app so you can time the buses) and the funicular is not too far away near the recreational parks.

United KingdomAfter booking I got an email ensuring I was comfortable with a non personal check in in Spanish. On reaching the address and using the intercom the person did seem a bit nonplussed by my lack of Spanish. But my name led to the door being opened and there is an English option on the check in system which requires your passport and I found easy to use. So just a little more information on what to do on arrival would help it work for everyone. It is impersonal by design but it works.
Lovely location which with a bit of research and especially if you obtain a BBCARD (www.bilbaobizkaiacard.com) which you can use on the funicular railway as well tram bus and metro is bith spectacular and fairly local to the Guggenheim etc. No kettle but there is a vending machine which takes cash only.

CanadaWe did not learn that the hotel typically has no staff in the building. You don’t learn this until after you have paid. Fortunately it was a warm day - the rooms are only heated to 15C

Netherlands- linnen and towels smelled bad (hopefully this was a one time issue) - light from the parking area was on all night and there was no way to block the light that was shining into our room
- the host was very friendly and helpful - remote desk check-in worked quickly - bus stop in front of the hotel with a bus to the city every hour

NetherlandsFor a hotel for €75 per night, at least you should be able to sleep in a dark room and expect basic amenities like shampoo, soap and clean towels. Everything was missing in the room. I couldn’t sleep at all because the room was full bright because of the bright lights in the parking area. The room did have whites “curtains” which was absolutely useless for the light outside. I would definitely not recommend the property to those who want to have a peaceful sleep. The photos below were taken at 11pm at night.
I can’t say much about what i liked about the stay because price to comfort ratio is just disappointing.

Puerto RicoThese rooms are very small. No directional signs as to where to enter the hotel from the street. AC is controlled by hotel even with very hot temperature and turns on and off all night. No hair dryer, manager indicated guests need to bring their belongins when asked... what!!!! Any airbnb offers a hair dryer. No shampoo. Toilet seat loose. Stairs are very steep and dangerous with no hand rails. The shower is unsafe with two floor texturas one is slippeery. Parking is offered yet it's in the street not on premises. Overall this is a poor proposal dor normal.people.
