How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bar lounge area was drab and lacked atmosphere. The staff here were uninviting. The shower should have safety rails. Stepping in and out of the bath to shower required caution.
Location, wide choice of breakfast, room size was good and very clean. Reception staff were helpful. The roof terrace was pleasant retreat.

Pool closed at 7pm for private party on first night only advised on arrival. Pool closed from 3pm on second day for private party only advised on arrival. Hotel booked on Tuesday evening for Thursday arrival but no mention of closure on booking. com or hotel website. Availability of pool was important part of booking decision.
Staff were top class and location perfect. Room was clean and comfortable with sufficient space for 3 people. Cool water available in reception was a welcome addition in such a warm climate.

One reason we chose the hotel was because of the swimming pool, however it closed the evening we arrived for a private function. The next day we tried at 11am and it was closed again which was a pity.
We loved the location of this hotel, and the underground parking was an added bonus. Our room was one of the older ones but was still nice, however, because it was first floor facing the street, it was noisy at night with the window open and we prefer not to sleep with air conditioning on. Each and every staff member that we met was great, so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was superb- special mention of the “egg chef” ! Also the complimentary welcome drink and the complimentary all day tea/coffee station in the lovely lounge area are very nice, thoughtful gestures.

Maybe have a couple of little cartons of milk..as we had a cup of tea in the afternoon and then we wanted a cup of coffee as we woke up, but there was no more milk… no worries we got a nice cup of coffee with our breakfast… just a very small point.
The staff are so friendly and helpful and the breakfast is superb.

We felt very farm away from the lift and the main part of the Third Floor.
Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff were nice. We really loved the rooftop pool and seating area. Great to have when the weather is very warm.

The residents lounge was too bright. Seating was fashionable but not very comfortable. The drinks were very expensive compared with bars in Seville.
Rooms were very comfortable, clean, quiet. The bathroom was fantastic....Great design especially the shower. The car parking was very efficient. The staff were lovely and helpful.

Very central, just a 10 minute stroll to the cathedral. Parking on site. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were well equipped and quiet, I had the best nights sleep as the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was good with an “egg chef” (lovely omelette!).

The cleaning service is a little slow
Bécquer is an old style hotel with a great location, close to the main touristic attractions. Spacious and comfortable room, super-equipped bathroom , excellent services
