Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThis hotel is in a perfect location for quick access to the beach, and the main street. The staff were exceptional, especially "MacGyver"! The breakfast, which is optional, had a large variety of choices and was perfect for starting the day!

SpainThe parking was not included in the stay, which was not mentioned until we arrived there. They don’t have an elevator, which we also didn’t know and couldn’t take into account.
The location was perfect if your intention is going to the beach and exploring the main streets of Platja d’Aro. All of the stuff was lovely and helped with anything needed. The hotel is sustainable and helps with sustainable access to potable water and so.

EstoniaThe rooms were not soundproof, you could easily hear your neighbours in rooms close to you. Breakfast was okay, but quite similar every day and poor choices for "not vegetarians".
The hotel was above our expectations, very good value for money. Just a steps from the beach, but in a very quiet street. The rooms and all hotel area was very cozy, loved the garden. There was even a small fitness area in hotel. Nice balcony in every room. Personnel was very helpful and friendly. So many details to create a very cozy area for vacation.

FranceThe mattress of the bed is not thick enough. Make it not very comfortable.
It's just near the sea and center, very well placed and very calm. We slept well, the breakfast was delicious and I appreciate a lot their ecological and organic commitment. A very cosy and charming place that I recommend.

AlgeriaI loved everything - the area was just good and not in the crowded area which was perfect and the fact that the beach was less than 5 mn walk was just perfect. the hotel is nice, a lovely garden and lovely people who where available all time. the only detail i wanted to highlight is the breakfast timing, we had to choose a slot 9h20, it was obliged, i imagine to manage all the guests, but unfortunately for example as being a mong the last to have breakfast, the eggs were always finished i should have asked but i didn't otherwise i'll sure come back next time

United KingdomWould have liked a kettle in the room, but was not a big deal - we just asked them to make us a cup of tea downstairs, which they did.
We hadn't been to the area before, and as we approached we were terrified. The area was so busy, you drive through an almost entiterely pedestrian area to get to the hotel but then you are transported to an oasis. This is hotel has some history but wears it proudly, it's not ultra modern but don't let that scare you. Lovely staff, lovey decor, decent rooms. Parking on site quite an achievement in this area. Lovely mature pine trees and gardens. A great 7kW charger for our EV which worked really well and again is unusual for the area. Don't let the reviews about aircon scare you. The rooms were not too hot, just open the balcony doors and let the breeze in, we didn't even need to use the fans provided in the room. There is also a fridge. The location is very very good. You are almost in stumbling distance of the beach. They rent beach towels (I think it was 2euro per towel - keep as long as you like) which we used, and chairs and umberellas were offered free though we didn't use them. We used their recommendations for restaurants twice and both were excellent. Breakfast was good. Covid protocols were very strong. We will be back.

IrelandAir conditioning was an extra cost but room was uncomfortable without it. For the price it should be included. Parking was also additional cost. Too many additional costs for things that other hotels include without additional charge

FranceThe beds were somewhat dated, you could feel the springs and they were very firm. This seems like a crucial point for a hotel, everything should start with the beds. I did not sleep all that well during my stay there.
The view from the room was nice and overlooking the courtyard and the trees. Rooms were a little hot without air conditioning although a mobile A/C is available with a surcharge. It is located right next to the beach, the staff was really friendly.

GermanyMissing air con was known before, but in these summer months, it often just gets too hot. The air circulation in the rooms and on the floor weren't that good.
Besides the missing air con, everything was really good! Really friendly, helpful and welcoming staff, good breakfast and a really nice and cosy atmosphere - from the inner court yard to the rooms.

NetherlandsOverall, our stay was really nice. We had everything we needed. However, I booked the hotel also because of the price. In the end, we had to pay the double amount. Parking was not included, airco was not included, breakfast was not included. A lot of extra costs, even tough we were aware of some, maybe for the total amount we could have booked an other hotel. But, that is not fully to blame on the hotel.
The hostess is amazing! They are all very kind of helpful. They put a lot of effort in the breakfast, all local foods. There is always someone at the reception. Location is perfect, around the corner the beach and on the other side the main street, but not located in the rush. I would definitely come back here!

SpainThere is nothing that I didn't like. Platja d'Aro is not my favorite town in Costa Brava, but even in this category, I have to say the location is very good. It's a rather quiet street with some of the nicest houses in the town, at 1minute walking distance of the beach and also 1 minute from a street full of shops and services. One wouldn't imagine there's a little spot like that in such busy suroundings.
We arrived much earlier than check in time, but as the room was ready, they didn't hesitate to let us in, which made a huge difference for us, as we were traveling with motorbike and we were able to take a shower, change and leave our baggage. Later during our trip, we had a motorbike breakdown, which could have ruined our trip if it weren't for the staff, who were extremely helpful and accomodating.
