A bit off the Camino

Ideal location just off main road. Perfect stop for visiting the amazing city of Burgos, (15 mins drive away) Very authentic house with a lovely garden to relax in & most of all to chat to the charming hosts, Rodrigo & Hazel. We were made to feel very welcome & relaxed, with supper offered (as an additional option). Breakfast was also a welcome before onward travel. A delightful couple who enjoy what they do!

Rob the host had lived in Australia and we had a great chat over a beer. Great location, only 10mins to anything. We lived staying in a house that was over 600 years old.

The warm welcome from Rodrigo & Hazel, the location just off the motorway, the evening dinner. The room was large, the bed comfortable and the shower hot.

I enjoyed a dinner cooked me and a peaceful stay in a 600+ year old home on the old Camino route. I also got a quick ride back to the Camino from the host.

The most awesome thing of the property is Senor Rodrigo. He is the kindest, most gracious host I’ve yet to meet. His cooking is excellent and he is so gracious and generous. A wonderful man, funny and a gentle presence.

Hazel and Rodrigo treated me like family. Rodrigo spoiled me rotten. The conversation the meal and the rest were worth the extra kilometers and time from the camino trail.

Everything i loved it, like going to my grans house made welcome from the word go. Rodreguese and Hazel can you adopt me i love people like them they cant do enough for us. Slept like a bsby from 8pm till 7am especually after bunk bed camino malarky in other albergues

Little bit far from Camino route but the host picked us up and dropped off so we were able to continue the Camino.

Just a heads up - they offered dinner. When we asked how much they didn't want specify beforehand, saying they'll calculate it. Next morning, they say it is 20 euros per person (which is quite pricey considering we only had water to drink) and they only take cash. Being on the camino where there is no atm for a 100 km, this was an issue for us. He offered to drive us to the centre of Burgos to draw the difference that we owed.

The host was very nice; picked us up from St. Jean de Ortega for small amount of money and told us a lot about the environment and history of the region. Communication was great, host speaks English very well. Place was very nice and authentic. Host cooked very good meal.

A lovely guesthouse in the traditional style. It was a very welcome break from the albergues on the Camino. Dinner was really good and nothing was too much trouble for the amazing hosts.

The couple Hazel and Rodrigo were so very sweet, fun and helpful. It was our friends birthday and they took me into town to buy a cake and candles. It felt like home and we were with family.

The shower was very small.

If you are biking the Camino, this would be a great stop. They have a nice inside courtyard for bikes. Dinner is 13 Euros, 2 more for wine. Breakfast is included. It is off the Camino by a few miles, but I was picked up for 10 Euros and driven the next morning for the same.

Rodrigo and Hazel are very friendly and attentive. We traveled with our 2 year old daughter and they treated her like a grandchild. Their place has a lot of character and charme and the beds were comfortable. Rodrigo cooked dinner and prepared breakfast for us, we will come again!
