Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. Hot water is always available in the foyer, but it's not quite the same as being able to have a morning cuppa in bed! A minor niggle though - we have stayed in this hotel before and it didn't stop us coming back.
We arrived on Toledo on a bank holiday and only discovered late in the afternoon that the lighting and extractor fan in the bathroom were not working. We reported this and were moved to an alternative room and given free breakfasts on all three days of our stay, which we thought was very fair compensation as the breakfast was excellent and the alternative room was almost as nice as the original one (just slightly smaller). Our room overlooked the main square but despite this, was very quiet, and the bed was very comfortable, so sleep quality was excellent. The shower was excellent and toiletries and towels were of high quality .All the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful and ensured that we got the most from our stay. Others have commented on the staircase to the first floor foyer area. It's actually a beautiful staircase, and someone always magically appeared to help us with luggage on arrival and departure, so this was not a problem for us.

United StatesI have absolutely no complaints at all.
The hotel was beautiful and in an excellent location. Even though it was located on the plaza we didn’t hear any noise all night. The staff was AMAZING. I would love to visit again.

United KingdomDisappointed that we were only given very small bottled water on day 1 (we had to pay for it after that at well over 3 times the external price) rather than each day (let's face it if we had booked in new every day they would have restocked the fridge and the bathroom - it must cost the hotel nothing compared to the daily rate!) The only disappointment in the bathroom - there was nowhere to place shampoo & shower gel bottles etc in the shower itself other than on the floor, which was quite slippery when wet - hotel was not able to provide a rubber shower mat which would have made it more secure. Other than that - a pleasure! Re facilities we recognised that as a "boutique" hotel it would really only have minimal general facilities. Although no toilet on the reception / breakfast room.
Location brilliant albeit a very busy, touristic Plaza - Staff were excellent and helpful - especially carrying heavy cases up and down the stairs to the first floor reception! Basic breakfast at €8 really good, although the bread was not so fresh on one occasion - "full breakfast" at €14 ok (would have preferred freshly boiled egg rather than cold hard boiled). Having said that following some "emergency drilling" gone midnight in the Plaza below we were given a free breakfast which was appreciated. Great coffee! Lovely room overlooking the Plaza - comfortable bed, bidet, walk in shower - see below!!

IndonesiaThe elevator is on the first floor, so from ground floor to 1st floor it would be quite difficult if you bring heavy/big suitcases without help. Also pls prepare your own tissue bcause no tissue in the room.

The balcony overlooking the square, with the French doors! Oh, we were in Europe , very clearly! It was very exciting to have open windows at night and we thoroughly enjoyed our balcony. Also , we had two questions that the staff answered right away. Very responsive! A little difficult to get to though and we were trying to figure out where the “ escalator “ from the parking areas outside of the garage were— and how to get from the parking area to this mysterious escalator. And right in front of us as we were trying to find the escalator at the bus station, was a whole row of taxis that took us right up to the hotel. I think this should just be stated in the hotel information they give about parking, you don’t have to take the escalator. You can just take a cab. Easy as pie. It would’ve taken a lot of stress out of everything if we had known that we were faced with this idea of lugging suitcases to some escalator and then who knows where that was going to dump us. Anyway. Just saying. Once we got there, the property was absolutely adorable and well-maintained, everything was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Toledo.

United StatesWebwere told staff would be at the desk early as we needed a cab very early. We arrived downstairs to no one there to assist and not a cab in sight. But, we had been given a phone number if we needed anything and we called it and Veronica solved our problem in time!

Staff were very helpful and friendly .Wonderful to have a sunset drink on the roof top terrace and the breakfast room is very nice with the morning sun overlooking the Plaza. MexicoWe had a lot of trouble with the AC system which was essential since the hotel is located on the main square which is quite busy and noisy at night. We also had problems with our electronic keys. The hotels location directly on the main square was convenient but noisy.
A pleasant hotel in the historic center near both the sites and restaurants/shopping. The room was huge and well designed with a comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom with a large shower. There also was a rooftop terrace with tables for a picknick with great views. The breakfast was good but was the same every morning with no choice.

United KingdomA more affordable breakfast would have prevented us going over for a McDonalds breakfast, temporarily breaking my blacklisting of them.😂
Spent 3 nights here between Seville and Madrid. Lovely hotel with great staff/owners. Great views over the square, especially when we could watch the Holy Week processions from our room.

The hotel was in a incredible location, a stone's throw from the best attractions and major monuments. The staff was awesome, especially María! She is very kind and nice, and gave us a lot of tips and recommendations! Bedroom was very comfortable and exactly as advertised, and had a great bathroom.

IrelandThe only issue is that the lift only goes from the 1st floor with a short if steep flight of stairs from the street.
The location is perfect and a room with a view of the square added an extra dimension. The square is busy and lively all day. The associated restaurant Adolfo and wine cellar is well worth a visit. Good breakfast overlooking the square, terrace upstairs would be lovely in Summer.

MaltaThe few steps leading to the reception. The lift is accessible only from first floor.
It’s a family run Boutique hotel who are very kind and well mannered. Ready to help at all moments. The location is centrally located in one of the main squares of the old town . Transfer from Toledo train station is via a 15min walk. Since Toledo is all uphill there’s an escalator(see pic attached) which can be easily missed as it is situated within a public car park. This escalator takes you from the Puente de Alcantara up to the plaza de Zocodover.
