Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaIf you are sensitive to noise, this is not the place for you. The building is not isolated so you can hear everything from outside, and even from the other guests' rooms. Some guests even complained to each other in the middle of the night that they can't sleep because of the noise. The facilities were not really the best. The shower cabin was a bit dirty and very small, the shower head was broken, the water pressure was decent, the towels and bed/pillow sheets had stains on them, the door to the balcony opened and closed with a loud noise as it got stuck in the floor. Although housekeeping came everyday, they didn't do the best job, as the floors were still dirty. To my horror, at night when going to the bathroom, I saw cockroaches ( i think they came from behind the shower cabin ). The bed was way too soft for my liking, I woke up with back pains everyday.
The location was close to the main attractions They give you snacks at a small price They offer free coffee and tea House-keeping everyday

Excellent Apartment-Hotel in the heart of Barcelona. Good starting point to visit all the sights of town. Sagrada Familia is to reach in a 5-minute-walk. Much cafés, bars and restaurants around but quiet place in the night. For all the rest Metro station is very near (yellow line). Rooms are big and modern, with new made bathrooms, air condition, tv and balcony. Owner is a very friendly and helpful man!!! Easy check in and out. Room is cleaned every day. Great place to stay for a city trip in barcelona!!

United KingdomThin walls so you can hear people next door. I found the departure advice unclear as it stated the box for keys was at the entrance to 'this floor' however was actually the floor downstairs. We both found the shower very difficult to use due to the amount of settings and no instructions.
Communication from staff was great re arrival plans and codes etc. Space was cleaned very well. Location was fab. Bed was a really good size and pretty comfortable.

UkraineYou should be ready that this place is very noisy, you can hear neighbors, cars, people on the street through all night. The window is not sealed, so it can be cold in the winter (it’s become not comfortable when it’s 8-10C outside). The renovation is not new, but it’s cozy and the price justified this fact.
Quality = price The location, stuff is awesome! All the conditions is normal. There is option to have small fridge (1€/day). Manager is always in connect, he helps with everything. Cute housekeeper comes everyday to make small cleaning in the room (changing towels every 3 days). We asked about strange smell in the bathroom and on the next day stuff made professional deep cleaning.

Czech RepublicWe were very disappointed after our arrival. The room had balcony doors to the street that couldn't be fully closed, so the noise from the street (there's a school right next to the accommodation) was really annoying, especially in the morning. Plus, there were construction workers in the building that started working from early morning which nobody warned us about. In the morning, we woke up with our bedsheets covered in little BUGS. The room had holes in the walls and did not match the pictures at all. The staff was a bit arrogant when we asked them for an improvement. In the end, they changed the sheets and cleaned the room again, but we were expecting a refund or ideally relocating to a different accommodation, as it'd should be in a good quality accommodation.
The location was okay, close to Sagrada, close to metro etc.

BulgariaNot bad, but unable to sleep 3 out of 5 nights. The room : 1. The room look exactly like the photo. 2. The terrace door doesn’t close properly so if feels a bit unsafe, let’s cold air inside and A LOT of noise from the street. Even with ear buds I still woke up during the night from it. 3. Walls are tiny. The person next door was having a party, it sounded like is in my room :/. Hygiene: 1. There was a lady changing towels every 3 days, and tidy the room every day. 2.There was dust on the furniture! I wanted to make a tea but the cups turned out to be dusty and the Water heater was leaving some white pieces in the water. Check in and Safety: 1. The check in was ok, but a bit slow. We need to wait for a guy to come although he new our arrival time. 2. You enter everywhere with a code, so in that sense I felt quite safe. The only weak point is the balcony door. 3. There is no person on the reception. One of the night some of the other visitors got drunk and forgot they code (probably). We could hear him screaming and trying to break the door for about an hour. It felt quite scared and I prefer there was some actions from the host for situations like this.
Area: The area is generally good and well connected.

NetherlandsThe manager was rude and did not help my friend who arrived alone. The balcony door did not lock and he did not send anyone to check the issue. Towels are not offered every day, only after the 3rd day. Toilet is dirty and the shower box is rusty.

SerbiaFacility is next to the kindergarten and it gets really loud every morning. We asked to change rooms because of the noise, but the answer we got is: 'We are full, i hate them as well'. There's no mosquito net on the windows and there's a lot of them, so in the end we had buy our own mosquito repellent. One day there was no water and we didn't get any alternative or at least a water container to fill it up the day before, so we had to buy water on our own. The facility has really bad sound insulation so you can hear everything, for example other guest shower in the morning. The windows are too close to the other building, and neighbous can see everything, and on the pictures on booking.com it wasn't like that.
