The train restaurant was closed when we went. • Initially I was reluctant to pay for access to the pool and to be limited to one hour, but it made for a nice experience and meant the pool was not busy at all.

Beautiful building and atmosphere. • Both bars served excellent cocktails and cognac. • The staff were friendly yet formal and accommodating. • The place was not busy and felt exclusive.

Like most Spanish menus, it was a little confusing as to what is a main course and what is not. I seemed to end up with two pintxos rather than an entree and main course. The dessert was delicious.

I had a very quiet room. The Library Bar was very nice. Nice Art Deco detail in the reception hall. Good breakfast. Excellent service. Nice to walk around the building, even though it as wet and cloudy.

Dinner and breakfast were a slight letdown. The food was good but not great, as one would expect from a five star hotel.

A unique place and a beautiful setting. Tastefully refurbished and the room was very nice, yet a little small. Not just a hotel but an experience, really worth a drive or a detour. Very friendly and helpful sfaff.

    Could not find any faults.

Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Came specifically to see how the derelict building had been transformed.

Room was quite hot, if you want to change that you have to contact reception for them to do it, which is fine but there should be a note to that effect in room. The restaurant was not 5 star standard, very expensive and qulity did not match that.

Building was beautifully done up and restored, very impressive and we loved looking around it all. Loved the railway theme throughout the building. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely room, shower great and a great bed.

The rooms on 2nd floor are too dark ( and small ). Also, we stayed on an out of season Monday night, so was exceptionally quiet, and therefore ( understandably ) the place lacked atmosphere.

We loved the beautiful, renovated hotel. It is amazing.

Room was quite dark. Because of the building which has small windows it doesn’t give you a great view either. 20 Euros to swim in the indoor pool is rather cheeky. 15 Euros to park outside when there a free car park 50 yards further away.

Modern, comfortable, excellent room with great bathroom. TV worked well but not many channels. It was quiet. The toilet had a heated seat, glowed blue and flushed automatically when you got off it, a novel experience!

The service and food in the restaurant. My husband’s starter was delicious. Mine looked amazing but the avocado was not ripe and too much soy sauce in the rice. The main course was fine but definitely not as good as we hoped for in a hotel of this calibre. We ordered 2 (different) glasses of white wine to start and the waiter brought 2 bottles over of a different white wine and a red wine. A lot of confusion ensued.

The hotel itself is spectacular and unique. The room and bed were comfortable. We enjoyed being greeted with a glass of Cava and drinks in the bar later. A nice touch to be given an ice bucket for a small bottle of Cava.

We didn't find the catering to our taste, we ate in the International Restaurant and found the menu restrictive. I had a chef's special of Canaloni which was stodgy and tasteless. The kitchen's hours of opening are also very restrictive for an international hotel.

we liked the luxury experience in a very interesting and historical location

Couldn't open the windows in the bathroom or the room- they had locks on it. No fans and ventilation would have been nice, especially after a shower. The hotel is a luxury hotel, but it was frustrating that they nickle and dimed you on everything. Parking- extra charge. Want to use the swimming pool? Make a reservation and pay 20 eur to spend 50 minutes in the pool. Breakfast- extra charge. The mini fridge in the room was full of beverages&food that also cost extra with no space for us to put our own drinks. If I'm paying 250-300 eur a night to stay, breakfast and the pool should be included..

Very nicely remodeled, comfortable and fancy hotel. Breakfast buffet was very tasty and the staff all very friendly. There is free parking close by not affiliated with the hotel. Bathroom had a basic Japanese bidet, which was a nice touch.

Could have been more of the history of the building / small museum on site. People seemed sheepish to share its past history, especially role in and after WW2.
