Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDisappointed with the comfort afforded by the bed .I don't expect a Tempur mattress for such bargain prices but this one was much too soft for me and offered very little support ..It wasn'tl a cotton duvet cover but a wool/ synthetic one and I much prefer a freshly- laundered cotton one next to my skin .
Good location -but some rooms face on a pedestrianised street and the Spanish don't do "late-night whisper" ..Old style Spanish ethos to the room n corridor - shower fine .On this occasion I chose " cheapo " - I probably should have stuck to my usual mantra of at least an 8•2 guest review score .Overall though ,good value .

SpainNot responsibility of the hotel, as they can’t do anything about it, but the street nearby is a bit noisy on weekends or days prior to public holidays. Still we had a good rest.
Location is great, the house is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, bathrooms are clean and spacious .

PortugalSuperb location in the very heart of the city. This 16th century bourgeois street - Calle de la Platería - is one of the oldest if Valladolid and is located near the Plaza Mayor, the cathedral, the church of San Pablo and the University of Valladolid (the second oldest in Spain)...

SpainNice old apartment converted to small hostal. Third floor with no lift which may not suit everyone. Comfortable enough, lots of old building charm. One small anecdote - there are lots of little hand-written paper notes telling you what not to do and an instruction sheet in each room also warning of possible transgresions!

TurkeyThe street where the place is located is very noisy so it is possible to wake up once or twice during the night because of the noise. The room was mostly clean but the blanket was not :( The walls between the rooms are quite thin, you can hear the person in the other room.
It was comfortable and clean. The location is very central and easy to walk. You can use the kitchen and utensils. The rooms are small but enough.

IrelandThis has to be the worst place I ever stayed. First you have to climb 3 stories of step stairs. That's a killer then the room is very badly equipped the bed is the cheapest and worst quality you can expect if you open window you are inviting influx of flies. Kitchen has no kettle no knives that you can use to cut bread or meat all equipment is old and should have been thrown out years ago. Landlord is more interested in telling you what you can not use then fixing anything. No bath 2 shared bathrooms no wonderful in any way but probably the best rooms in the property. O yes I almost forgot it has no tv in this day and age.
It is difficult to find anything good to say about this property.

SpainThe evening before our arrival the owner called me explaining that they had had an accident with the neighbour above and one of the bathrooms was not usable. That left us one bath for 5 rooms and up to 9 people which obviously was not an option. The bad thing was that he knew that since Tuesday (3 days before) but told me a few hours before arrival so he let me little time to manage a new booking at other place.
The house was supposed to be ok, the area around it was good and it was close enough to the center of the city.

PortugalThe comfy part was hindered because of the creaky floorboards and the very very thin walls ( we could hear our neighbour snoring). Because the property doesn't have parking and it is the city center, it is rather difficult to park, so be advised.
The location is really good, you can easily go around the city walking. The apartment was very clean.
