How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location of the apartment was absolutely unbeatable - just a 2-minute walk to the main square, yet the street itself was very quiet so we weren't bothered by noise at night. The apartment itself was clean and very comfortable. The host was very helpful and responded promptly to all of my questions.

Only minor suggestion is to have black out curtains as there was always some level of light coming into bedroom.
The apartment is beautiful and located right in the heart of the Old Town. Near a lot of restaurants but off the main streets so that it is quiet at night. David was responsive once we made contact. He left us water & coffee pods which we appreciated. There was also a tips sheet for restaurants & things to do in the area. The WiFi was good & shower was roomy & good water pressure.

Not being able to stay longer!
We loved absolutely everything about this apartment & we couldn’t fault anything at all which is a rare occurrence! There’s usually a little something that’s not quite right but not here. The location was the best you could possibly get. So central & close to all the main sights but on a beautiful little street just off the main square so it was lovely & quiet. It’s very close to a supermarket, a Carrefour Express & very close to some lovely shopping areas too. The apartment itself was brilliant & far better than the pictures. Lovely high ceilings, simply but beautifully furnished with everything you need. It was spotlessly clean, had a wonderful big bathroom with a great shower. The bed was super comfy and the towels & bedlinen were of very good quality. Our host David was super fast answering any questions we had. All in all, it was a perfect stay, thank you.

The facilities were top-notch, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, offering convenience and easy access to nearby attractions. The cleanliness of the room and common areas exceeded our expectations. David was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. He checked on us via WhatsApp once we checked in to make sure everything was okay for us. He even kept our luggage for us after we checked out while we strolled around the city before heading to the airport. I highly recommend Casa Chinitas Holiday Home to anyone looking for a fantastic place to stay!

We met the host at the door who gave us a great tour of the apartment. It was located in a great spot for all the sites we wanted to visit. There was some great recommendations from the host of places try. Upon leaving the host allowed for us to leave bags at reception so we could spend our last few hours in Malaga

The apartment (two in the same building, which we both occupied with another couple of friends) is located right in the central area of Malaga. The apartments are completely new, spacious and clean. Easy access through codes sent before arriving. The manager very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Only thing to note is the noise at night, due to being in a lively street with lots of bars. Light sleepers beware (or stay out late!).
Beautifully decorated and spacious apartment with a kitchen and nice seating area. Very central and easy to walk around the city from. The host was also very friendly and helpful, providing lots of local recommendations.

The location, cleanliness and facilities were all exceptional! Loved the Nespresso machine, the apartment came with pods, tea bags and hot chocolate that were free to use. Salvador was brilliant and helped us with any enquiries we had throughout the trip! The apartment was very safe and the interior design was lovely! Overall a brilliant place to stay would highly recommend and will be back!

The location was just excellent - dead center in the old town area, yet quiet enough. The host was super helpful, we also liked that he had prepared a list of things to do or a list of places to eat at. We have usually very high expectations but this property and host totally excelled. We also liked the cleanliness of the rooms - it's very important. All the amenities were there, everything worked and basically we enjoyed our stay a lot.
