Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandI recently stayed at this charming hotel in the room Sagnier, and had an exceptional experience. The location couldn't have been better, situated perfectly for exploring the city. The building's old-world charm, adorned with beautiful woodwork, added to the overall ambiance. The room was simply stunning, complete with a terrace offering the perfect spot for breakfast or relaxation with a view. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring a memorable stay.

United StatesThe bathroom smelled pretty bad, like kitty litter. I couldn’t tell if it was the water or the drain. Either way needs to be looked into. Also breakfast was minimal, no hot food which was disappointing
Very nice aesthetic, well kept, clean and modern with beautiful restoration of the original tile floors. The staff was accommodating and friendly. We were able to pit our luggage in hold so we could enjoy our last day out until our flight.

United StatesStreet noise is a slight problem but the doors to the terrace were pretty soundproof.
This is a beautiful property! The rooms are very nicely done and roomy. We had three people in the room with no problem and the sofa bed was comfortable. It’s centrally located and easy to walk or catch a cab. We felt very safe. The small terrace was nice. This was a great value for Barcelona

SpainIf you stay in one of the rooms near the hall you can hear the chatter if there are guests talking in that area (during breakfast, for example). Nothing that can't be solved with earplugs.
The stay was perfect! Located in the centre of Barcelona, in a quiet street, it was perfect to visit and enjoy. The hotel is a completely renovated house with a modern style but respecting the refined details of the spaces. The staff is perfect, but a particular thanks goes to Irene, she has added that detail of attention and courtesy that will not make us hesitate to come back in the future.

We had the two room suite which included an outdoor terrace. The beds were comfortable and the room was super quiet. We liked that there was a quick breakfast available for such a small hotel. Is in a good central location and the two staff members we met were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomBreakfast options were a little limited, but there is an excellent café just around the corner that serves brunches. The aircon panel has a very bright green light and is right next to the bed, so we had to switch it off to get to sleep. Parking in the underground car park right next to the hotel is very convenient, but expensive.
We had a suite with a terrace, which was lovely for sitting outside with a coffee. The room was a very generous size, the bathroom modern and clean. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us to explore Eixemple and Gracia.

Finland-
We had a great stay at this beautiful and tastefully decorated small hotel. We were a bit a sick at the end of our journey, but at least we had a nice room to rest in. The pictures don't do the place justice in my opinion. We stayed during january, and still sat at the huge terrace a lot, it must be even better during the summer. The "no breakfast" breakfast was also more than enough - toast, butter, jams, yoghurt, cereal, juice, pastries... what more do you need really. A lot of restaurants to choose from just around the corner, and a good location to visit all the different neighborhoods by walking or taking a metro (few blocks away).

United KingdomWe didn't get much light as we were on the first floor and the buildings in the centre of Barcelona are quite high up. Also, the terrace in our room was not worth having: it was on a very busy street so we didn't use it.
Really loved the fact that the hotel was in an old house/mansion, full of character. The bed was super comfortable, the shower was fantastic, the hosts were very welcoming and the location was ideal to visit Barcelona.

SpainOur only suggestion is to elevate the breakfast spread by adding croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice, as befits this beautiful space & in keeping with the understated luxury. Still, we will definitely be back.
Beautiful interiors, comfortable bed, helpful staff, everything was clean. Great location. Think of this as a luxury Bed & Breakfast instead of a “two star hotel”, which doesn’t do it justice.

Incredibly beautifully converted old palacio with a generously sized, comfortable room. A small breakfast was available in the kitchen area in the foyer where we could help ourselves to coffee, fruit and pastries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a perfect stay!

United StatesThis is something characteristic of old historic buildings in Europe (and elsewhere in the world). The traps in the vent stack for the plumbing system can run a little dry overnight so depending on how sensitive you nose is, you might detect a faint smell in the bathroom in the morning. This is easy to deal with by running water down the drain of the tub and shower before you go to bed. A good way to ensure the traps are well "sealed." We've been in old buildings in Europe and elsewhere in the world and find this easy hack usually works.
Location in Eixample is super central. We chose the hotel for this without fully understanding how convenient the location is. Two blocks from the Passeig de Gracia (and less than 10 minutes by foot from Casa Battlo on the street there). About 20 minutes SE to the University and a little further to the Museum of Contemporary Arts. About 20 minutes to south to the Gothic Quarter. About 30 minutes to the NE to the Sagrada Familia. About 30 N/NW gets you to the Gracia neighbourhood. Don't be fooled by the European hotel star ratings. The ratings don't reflect the quality of the rooms or the staff; they are more a reflection of the number of amenities included within the hotel. In the case of Casa Llimona, the rooms were super well appointed, and interior decorations spare (think minimal) but warm (think wood and brass and tiles). Breakfast is complementary at a community table. Staff is super friendly and helpful but generally minimal as this is a boutique hotel in a historic building. The room and furnishings are what you'd expect from a 4/5 star hotel except this is a boutique hotel without the corridors of rooms after rooms. We don't need the full complement of 24/7 staff, business centre, meeting rooms, laundry service, etc. when we travel for leisure. We'd rather go out into the city and patronize the business that locals use: local restaurants, shops, post office, pharmacies, etc. We even used one of the automated laundromats so common in Barcelona (recommended by the staff).
