Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenIntense walk to the hotel: * The walk to the hotel is pretty long from the center and the stairway up to the hotel is 140 uneven steps Forced room move: * Hotel made us stay in room 105 first, then change to 104 in the middle of our stay with no compensation (a little goes a long way, such as 10 euro off, or a bottle of wine). We had to spend time to pack up and move after all. * The instructions were unclear and changing - after we moved rooms we got an email with them asking us to stay in the first room... I asked earlier if it was possible to stay in room 105 during the whole stay (we booked 104) but got a no. * They also just told us about the move a few days before our trip, so it was hard to find an alternative. Ongoing constructions: * They did constructions which they didn't warn about, so there were lots of noise which was a shame when you want to rest in the middle of the day. * We stayed with them last year and it was the same - but I didn't think they would still be ongoing. Bad wifi: * WiFi is really bad, worse in room 105 than 104. Pictures not accurate * Room 104 doesn't have a bathtub anymore.
Beautiful view. The rooms with balconies are very nice. Clean. Easy check in. Calm area. Good place to relax.

NetherlandsWarning: Present Room 105 is not a quadruple room, it is only one room with a balcony. Present Room 105 has not one double bed and two single beds as stated in the room info on booking.com. It has only a double bed in a niche. Warning: after booking you have to upload front and rear of your ID. This is prone to identity fraud that booking.com is warning for. Also this is against EU privacy legislation, thus illegal.

GermanyThere was a pod coffeemaker (environmentally not so great) and two decaf espresso pods for two people, two nights. One of us doesn't drink much coffee, but for the other one, a real cup of coffee first thing in the morning would've been nice.
We had a room with a balcony, and the view of the terrace with garden, Málaga and the hills beyond and the sunset was wonderful. The room was spacious and tastefully furnished. It was _really_ quiet -- we never knew whether there were even other people staying in the house.

United KingdomNo access to more toilet roll (we nearly ran out). No access to more towels (we had to reuse dirty ones). No access to more coffee pods. We were given 2 coffee pods between two of us for four nights. ‘Double’ bed is two single beds pushed together. Walk back to the hotel from the town is intense uphill and tough in the heat.
Garden and bathroom lovely, room standard. Very quiet and empty, no staff and we always had the garden to ourselves. Easy check in and out. Air conditioning in room superb. Having a large bath in the bathroom was great.

PolandThe hotel feels somewhat deserted - there is no staff there at all, which may be a nuisance sometimes (e.g. there is nowhere to lend kitchen utensils from and no immediate help on site, in case you need something). For the duration of the first evening, hot water in the taps and shower had a brownish-orange hue, but we assumed that this is due to the fact that the heating water system hasn't been used lately and that it's gonna get better as we use more water and rinse the pipes out, and indeed it did, so no biggie - I guess this problem does not occur at all in the high season, when there are guests regularly. Shame that there are no breakfast options, it would be lovely to have some coffee on the terrace.
Very atmospheric. Great location (10 minute walk to the historical city center), rooms very comfy and clean, beautiful old windows, and an absolutely lovely terrace with a view. Contact with the staff via messages very efficient and quick (there is no staff on-site, you receive self check-in instructions). We were visiting somewhat out of season, and as far as we could see, we were the only guests there at the time of our visit, which felt a little weird but also pretty magical at the same time - we had the whole lovely terrace to ourselves!

GermanyNo staff visible. Had to look around the property to find toilet paper (small cupboard first floor next to the stairs, if you’re desperate). We also had no electricity until another guest who had the same problem explained to us that there was a switch (like a light switch) next to the door. Nobody to ask for clean towels. There was also an ironing board but no iron….
It’s a lovely old villa with a fantastic view. Many would say it needs modernising but we liked its old-fashioned style.

IrelandMaybe not for the elderly or infirm as it up a hill from the city. Great for couples or people who like stretching their legs. About a 15 to 20 minutes on a straight road from the main area. Lovely peaceful stay.
The apartment was great with a comfortable bed, powerful shower and a nice outside sitting area overlooking Malaga.

Eh? Nothing in particular stands out. The wi-fi? The shutters. Quite quiet for Malaga.

LatviaA microwave would be needed in the rooms, otherwise there is nowhere to warm up food, so in general everything is fine. To get to the apartment, the only thing is a steep climb up the stairs, where you will have to make an effort.
