Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCooking facilities are basic - microwave and a hob. You need to take all your food with you as there isn't a shop nearby but as long as you know this it is fine.
The location is superb - right in the middle of the National Park at the start of trails. It was very quiet at night and you could hear the frogs on the pond nearby. The deer wandered down to the street and sat outside our house. There was plenty of parking and you could load and unload outside the door of the house. It is very dark at night and you can see all the stars. The accommodation is basic but very clean and the check in was easy, Plenty of outside picnic tables nearby where you can sit outside. There are quite a few school groups who came to stay in the bunkhouses nearby but they were very quiet and well behaved .

NetherlandsVillarreal, right in the middle of the National Park Monfragüe, is tiny, a one-street-hamlet, but extremely worthwhile, wild deer roaming around you in the evening, dark and peaceful and quiet at night. We were offered another appartment from the one we reserved, but only better, larger and with all amenities private, so top!

SpainWe live in a triple room. And the bed on which my son was sleeping creaked a lot. I think it can be fixed.
The place is wonderful! It is situated in the heart of the National Park Monfragüe and you could investigate all the routes very close to the house without using a car. It is an old house reconstructing in the hotel. On the first floor there are a hall with a fireplace and sofas around it and a big kitchen with all necessary things to cook. We brought the products with us and saved them in the fridge in the kitchen. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable. There was always hot water, no problem with it. We had enough shampoo and shower gel in the room. Sometimes it was a little bit humid in the room because of the heavy rain outside. A few steps away there are 3 bars/restaurants which were opened from the morning until 16 h. But you could order a dinner there to take it in the evening time to the room.

A fantastic spot to start the day. In the middle of the national park, spectacular nature all around. During the day there was also a restaurant nearby.

LatviaIt's generally chilly in winter in a stone house like this. Although we had heaters, we needed to heat the house to feel comfortable upon arrival. But that's such a small thing, overall very good. The only pub next door went out of business quite quickly though, you need to plan your food shopping in the nearest town well in advance.
A great place to discover the scenic hiking routes of the Monfragüe National Park on foot from here. In the evening, young deer were starving in the courtyard, an excellent place to watch the birds and enjoy the mountainous scenery. It's a spacious cottage overall.

United KingdomWe stumbled on two nights when neither of the village bars were open, so catering in the small kitchen wasn't ideal. We could have driven about 30 mins to a few options though.
Superb location, couldn't be better for nature lovers visiting Monfrague.

PortugalIt was too hot when we wen (around 40ºC) and the air-conditioning wasn't functioning at lower temperatures
The location was amazing, at the village were most of the trails begin. Also there are not a lot of options to eat in the village but the hosts were available to serve food at their restaurant. Alba is a very friendly and honest host. My mother forgot her phone on the bedroom, and we just realised when Alba called us telling about it.

United KingdomDue to redecoration we were moved to a similar apartment (10a) in the village. The area is outstanding, particularly for those interested in wildlife, birds in particular. We stayed for 5 nights and visited Salto del Gitano several times, as well as numerous Miradors on the road heading east. Countless vultures plus eagles and rutting deer. The apartment is perfectly placed to explore Monfrague. A spacious second floor apartment with en-suite double bedroom, kitchen/living area, both air conditioned. The owners went out of their way to be helpful, even providing a new kettle (which the original apartment had but this one did not). Great hosts in an amazing area.
