Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicOnly thing I would improve are the curtains in the rooms. They let too much light enter the room in the morning.
This place is just great. The room is very spacious and there's a big terrace attached to it. It has a true rural, Spanish vibe and nice lightning. There are other pros of this property that overshadow the rooms : the garden with singing birds is just great, the breakfast is excellent - very rich, made of fresh and local products, they also respect any dietary restrictions you could have. On top of that there is a bookshelf with wide variety of books. One more thing is that they have bins to recycle any kind of trash you could have and they have a machine for filtered water and bottles so you don't have to buy any additional water. P.S. Arona itself is a small but picturesque town. There are some shops and restaurants there as well. It is not far from the coast (by car it is about 15 minutes)

GermanyEquipment of the room could be better (e.g. fridge)
Very traditional rooms with basic furniture. The garden is very beautiful and the fresh, healthy breakfast is exceptional It is worth mentioning that it is usually a few degrees colder and cloudier in Arona than at the beach. This is probably great during the summer, but at least for us it was colder than expected in April

United KingdomCould have done with a small fridge or opportunity to put drinks in the kitchen fridge. There was a storm and heavy rainfall during our stay which meant we had a leak through the roof. The staff were quick to fix the situation and all was fine - it’s an old building & these things happen.
A traditional family run hotel that has a wonderful authentic feel. The garden terrace was lovely for breakfast and the log fires in the rooms were wonderful. Definitely needed in winter as it’s cooler in Arona. You need a hire car as it’s quite remote & all the good restaurants are a small drive away, easy to find parking on the road. Perfect base for hiking in Teide and about 20 min drive to the coast. Staff very friendly!

United KingdomWe didn’t need it but there is no air conditioning
Casa Rural is a great find and so well run by it’s host. The breakfast is cooked from scratch every day and is delicious and healthy. A kettle, cups and a few tea bags are provided in the rooms. The rooms are spacious and simple in typical Canarian style. Arona is a great location if you’re interested in walking, and only 25 minutes from the coast and airport. We found Alessandra to be a helpful and kind host who told us about typical local restaurants close by.

United KingdomNothing.
The hotel is a traditional Canarian house and has an amazing garden full of birds and plants. The breakfast is made daily and they really put an effort to make it special. We had multiple dietary requirements and the owner went above and beyond to make options for us. The room we stayed was very spacious. It is in a quiet neighborhood short drive from Los Christianos in the historical heart of Arona with many traditional houses.

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like about the accommodation. The only issue is that in Arona itself, there are not really any proper restaurants to eat within walking distance, so it's good to hire a car, as we did. A word of warning about car hire - we hired an electric Fiat 500 (having no previous experience of electric cars but wanted to try one out) and had terrible problems trying to find working public fast charge points. In the end, we changed the car for a petrol model which was much better.
We had a lovely large balcony with a drying rack to dry our clothes/towels on. The breakfast was really good - mainly all homemade vegetarian food and very healthy with fruit picked fresh from the trees in the garden. The garden was really lovely too. The location was perfect - away from all the resorts in a quiet residential village, well located for driving up into the mountains. There is also a really good walk we did from our accommodation up to the top of Rocque Del Conde. We happened to be staying while a local fiesta was taking place in honour of San Antonio which was lucky. There were not mainly good places to eat out within walking distance, but we found a few decent restaurants within a short drive (5-10mins). There are a couple of small convenience stores and bars as well as a petrol station all very close by.

Such an epic and lovely place. Alexandra and her mother are wonderful attentive and helpful hosts. The garden looks like Eden, the rooms are huge and well decorated, the breakfast every morning is made out of ingredients from their own garden and so tasty, I felt like home and could relax so well. I would always come back. It was perfect.

BelgiumThe shower was a dissapointment; small stream of water with not a lot of pressure. For the price you pay, this can be enhanced. The host was friendly but very reserved. She didnt tell anything about the surroundings or the area and didnt do any smalltalk.
The breakfast on the beautifull patio. Everyday ghe host made something different which was a plus. The room was very good; great bed and a big terrace.
