The bed is very comfortable but it’s not a double bed but rather two single beds that slide apart if u sleep in the middle and for a couple that’s a bit annoying.

The house is very well equipped and the owner is absolutely wonderful and available for any questions or needs that might come up. The town is cute and mainly a great location the mountains in the center of the island.

Really nice apartment in the very centre of Vega de San Mateo. Everything was very clean, spatious and well equipped. Fruits, coffee, and almond cake were really nice welcome gifts from the host, who was super nice and friendly. The apartment is a great value for money!

We loved the apartment. It's very comfortable and is located in the heart of the old town, very near to shops, restaurants/cafés, the tourist office and the bus station. Encarna was very sweet and had bought us lots of special treats which were much appreciated after a long journey!

The stay was exceptional. Gorgeous apartment. Very kind host - left us delicious cake and coffee and let us check in early. Much appreciated. Well equipped kitchen area with all you need to create a simple meal - important as local restaurants generally shut by 6 pm!

The location was perfect after a hike to Roque Nublo. Such a quiet neighborhood! You included all the amenities we needed and everything was so clean and comfortable.

Parking is a little bit more difficult (you need to park on the street during the night). The city was too quiet most of the time - everything was closed.

It is an old house in city center with its own spirit. The apartment is cozy and spacious. There are heaters available in case it gets cold (which it can during rain in the mountains). Host was very nice, attentive. She speeks little to no English, but this caused no issues (we managed to communicate just fine, in person as well as on Whatsapp, us speaking no Spanish at all :-) ). Not many tourists around.

A hidden gem! We had a very pleasant stay at Casa Encarna. The appartement is super cute and cosy, and is super well equipped to make your stay as comfortable as it could possibly be. On top of that, we had a very warm welcome from the host and were surprised with a nice coffee and local cake! We’d recommend anyone who’s visiting the mountainous centre of Gran Canaria to spend one or more nights here, it’s definitely worth the trip.

All just great! Well, since nothing is just perfect in life and for the sake of completeness I just want to mention that the bed is super super comfy and cozy. However, might be a little to cozy, if you are a tall (180cm+) or "big" person. It seems to be a general issue on the Canary Islands that beds are very small. Actually, hard to understand when bearing in mind the "Latin body" that most people have nowadays. But if you're a single traveler, or two rather lean and not gigantic person and/or love spooning all night long, than this is your castle. And bear in mind it's in the mountains, so you shouldn't just come here wearing shirt and Flipflops. But that should be common sense. Again, muchas muchas gracias a Encarna!

Perfecto! In order to vote 10 out of 10 points things need to be incredibly great. And this actually happened at Casa Rural. Well, it always is a question of the individual perspective. Different people, different expectations and demands. In our case, our expectations were exceeded. Communication with Encarna: superb at all times. Welcoming by Encarna: it doesn't get better. She even literally run down the streets in order to welcome us and navigate us with our car through the wrinkled little roads. Above that, fresh fruits, water bottles and a traditional pastry were awaiting us. Accommodation: superb! An old traditional house, beautifully renovated and equipped with more than you need. Location: romantic. Peaceful. Situated in the center of the old town, right next to the cute little church. To make it short, if you wanna get out of all the hustle and bustle and want to be welcomed by a super attentive host, come here!

Nothing! Everything was exceptional!

I have been using Booking.com since a while and the host of Casa Rural Encarna is the kindest and most friendly person that I have encountered! She will instantly make you feel as at your own home. What I liked: Very friendly host, big and newly renovated apartment (looks even better in reality than on pictures!), proximity to the bus station and the supermarket and local market, all equipment – even with washing machine and all bigger and smaller stuff in the kitchen, an act of kindness from the host – free coffee and a treat from a local bakery.

iEsta estancia fue una pasada! Roomy, super clean and really comfortable facilities. We had everything we needed to cook or just have a breakfast. The bathroom has a small washing machine. The bedroom has much storing space, spare pillows, spare blankets, and so forth. The accommodation is well located: right next to the forecourt of Nuestra Señora del Pino; you can park at the frontdoor or at the municpal parking, for free; it is a quiet town center. Our host was charming and always willing to take extra care of us. We're willing to go back, for sure!

10 points (excellent) home for those who value cleanliness and comfort. A very good location for lovers of mountain routes (in the middle of the island) and visitors to the capital. The hostess is wonderful - hospitable and responsive! definitely recommend this place!
