How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only issue was the noise from other guests. You can hear everything , doors opening & closing people talking .. so my advice take good ear plugs
Our arrival was late but check in instructions were clear and very easy . Our room was clean with good facilities. Microwave mini fridge tea/coffee cutlery hairdryer. We were a bit worried after reading reviews about the beds but ours were really comfortable and cosy , absolutely perfect.

- Uncomfortable beds - Level of cleanliness (some leftover crumbs on the countertop, a hair band near the bed table, black hair on the sink and toilet - we are both blond) - it wasn't cleaned to a certain standard - Very thin walls (we were fortunate enough to not have neighbors for two nights, but on the last night we had to listen to people having s*x all night long... and it wasn't because they were super loud but because the walls were paper thin) - Smell of damp and moist in the room and in the bathroom (we are both allergic to mold and I was coughing a lot while being in the room) - Not the greatest neighborhood (next to the park where people meet to drink, smoke, etc). - No sign outside the property that this is it (there's only a number by the door)

The walls seemed to be thin, because you could hear what neighbours were doing. The bathroom was also smelly (most likely coming from the pipes). There was no heater and the air conditioning couldn’t keep up the warm temperature for a longer time (it kept going down to lower degrees) so it was quite briskly throughout the day.
The location was great. Distance by walking to the beach or city centre was about 15-20 minutes. The train, tram and bus stations were also very close. Also the Castle Sant Ferran was a 5 minute walk. The bed was really comfortable. We were given fresh towels, lots of toilet paper and water bottles.

If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. It’s easy to hear your neighbors. It could have been cleaner. The room was fine a solo traveler but there would not be much storage space for 2 people.
Location close to Castillo de San Ferran offered beautiful views and nice walks in the park. Close to supermarkets, coffeeshops, restaurants of all kinds, Mercado central. Great & quick communication by property team during whole stay.

Bed mattress is giving some noise when someone is moving during the sleep.
Clean and nice rooms with simple modern design, the small balcony was looking onto a quiet street and park, a 10 min light walk from the city center and 20 min from the beach

can be a bit nosy as the walls aren't too thick.
Decent size room, enough comfort for a solo traveller. balcony not huge but good enough to chill on. clean bathroom. if i had questions the hosts were easy to contact.

No warm water (Got warm water from the 1st day but the next days, i think they turn it off) It was pretty cold to shower in a morning and evening. I can hear neighbors noises so it needs to be extra careful and silent.

Water pressure in bathroom sink is a little weak. Key is difficult to use (but host is speedy to respond via messages to help out 🙂). Steep area. Walls can feel a little thin depending on your neighbours.
Bathroom is spacious if you’re a solo traveler. Received complimentary water bottles, coffee pods and sugar. Balcony view of street and nearby park with a lot of trees. Nice shower with doors that close with a magnetic seal that makes sure no water gets out. Easy check out process. Quiet area.
