Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only slight problem we had was finding our way to the bathroom in the middle of the night as it was so dark and we weren't sure where the light switches were. Taking a torch/ light would have been a good idea.
The location was close to the centre of Haria but far enough away to be quiet. There was plenty of on-street parking very near by, all guided to by our host. The apartment has a lovely outside area which was perfect for a drink in the evening The host provided excellent information about the local facilities in a welcome folder, including recommendations for eating that we were happy to follow up on. A lovley stay in a green art of Lanzarote.

We loved this accommodation, it met all our needs. Superb location in the centre of Haria. Handy kitchen, nice layout with good shower and nice to have Netflix for a bedtime movie. Also decorations were thoughtful and chill.

SpainHave nothing to complaint about ;-)
I had a lovely stay, the studio has everything you need, toilet and kitchen looked recently refurbished and clean. Bed was really comfortable, internet was fast as I spent some time working as well. The patio is really lovely area to chill out outside the room. There was some food and a 5L water bottle plus a lovely coffee machine. Adam the owner messaged me few times asking me if I needed anything. I had the pleasure to have a chat with him about life in Lanzarote. I had a great time in Casa Valle de Palmeras

ItalyThere was always some food smell, like there was a kitchen nearby always cooking. Some ants in the bathroom but not in the kitchen or elsewhere.
Cozy apartment, perfect for 2, in a nice location in Lanzarote. Haria is in the northest part of the island, is a nice little town with some highlights and the Manrique house to visit. The apartment has a little nice courtyard, a spacious room and the host welcomes you with some refreshment and food for a DYI breakfast. The host was very nice and helpful. Recommended!

BelgiumThe bathroom is a bit far from the bedroom.
A very cosy entrance patio which gives a nice feeling. This old house has a lot of charm. Good location, close to the plaza and restaurants . I was happily surprised by the welcome presents, what a lovely treat! I especially liked the cookies! The host is really generous, you can use everything in the well equipped kitchen, even coffee pads for free! Even though it's not a B&B, you can make your own breakfast with all what is needed. Thank you!

BelgiumNothing important, just the impossibility to ventilate well the whole property.
Nice and clear communication with the host. They even let us water and some food! Very clean, very well located in fantastic Haría, close to the market and central square.

GermanyThere's nothing to complain about.
A cozy little apartment in the centre of the lovely town of Haria in the north of Lanzarote. The building itself is a tastefully refurbished old rural town house with the always caring and very kind hosts Angela and Adam living next door. They even provided a welcome package of some basic stuff (bread, milk, beer) so you didn't need to go the shop right after arriving. Anyway, little grocery stores are just a few minutes foot walk away so you can easily get any supply you need. You can start excellent hiking tours right from there e g. to Teguise or the Famara cliffs. To me it was the perfect place to stay. Highly recommended!

BelgiumThe only negatieve thing is that you can hear everything through the walls
This place was like a fair tale. The terrace is the best and some welcome stuff in the fridge, like beer, water, cookies, bread. That was so welcome !

United KingdomIt was rather cold, apart from the main room. Worst was the relentless barking from the owner's dogs, whenever they went out. Very annoying.
An individual unique place, with some thoughtful touches provided by the owners, especially a nice welcome pack

Netherlandsthe only not so spectacular aspect is the fact that there are no windows in the bathroom, kitchen and corridor. also, if it's windy and rainy (like it was during our stay), you have to either eat facing a wall in the corridor or in the place where you sleep; because it's not really possible to eat in the garden and there isn't a living-room. i'm sure if the weather had been better, this wouldn't have been a problem. it's just the way the unit is built, not the hosts' fault. also, wifi only works in the bedroom. nowhere else.
everything was good and in order. the communication with the hosts was stellar and they are very helpful and caring. absolutely nothing to say here. the little protected outdoor garden is really nice. there's also a really nice welcome package of a few things to eat, coffee and 5L of water.
