Diego and Xing were the best hosts we had on our Camino. It’s a bit out of the route but well worth it. The house is so rustic and comfortable. The little touch of the different supplies made a world of difference in making our stay so enjoyable. Thank you for Making vegetarian food for me it was delicious.

All was perfect.

As a Camino walker, I found Casa Rural Vella da Rivera to be the most comfortable and lovely place I stayed along my journey. The warm reception, kindness of the hosts, beautiful rooms, and delicious dinner and breakfast made me feel welcome and personally cared for. Xin and Diego are fabulous hosts. The beds and showers were perfect, and the location just off the Camino was very convenient. I loved my stay!

Firstly, the hosts were amazing, and went above and beyond in making our short stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. We ate like kings at both dinner and breakfast. :) The house itself is absolutely lovely, with many common indoor and outdoor areas for relaxing, and our room was larger than expected, with an incredibly comfy bed and a fully equipped bathroom (including bathtub). This was a lovely way to spend the last night of our journey before reaching Santiago - we only wish that our stay had been longer!

This property is located a short distance from the Portuguese Camino. The location is perfect for breaking up the walk between Padron and Santiago de Compostela. This was by far the best accommodation we had during our 12 day journey. Diego snd Xin are so welcoming and flexible. They provided a fantastic dinner and breakfast. The dinner variety was like a gourmet meal. It was hot so they made breakfast at 6:30 for us so we could get an early start and avoid the hottest part of the day. The room was fantastic. They have a lovely patio to sit in and relax. They also have a beautiful garden as well as a refreshing bar. Highly recommend you stay at this beautiful accommodation. It will be one of the highlights of your Camino journey.

This is your little gem that one only so very seldom finds. The personal reception, the unique quiet location and the rooms all are more then excellent. The hospitality reflects the passion they have. As pelgrims we were all invited to a pelgrim dinner with a combination of all kinds of spanish and asian style tapas. The self service bar offers a great choice. And the breakfast again reflects their care for details. By far the most special stay on the Camino. Highly recommend it.

Xin and Diego are far and away the most hospitable innkeepers we’ve had the privilege to stay with on this trip and probably and vacation we’ve taken. They planned dinner for the three groups staying that night and went above and beyond with their service. The room was comfortable and clean. It was a bit of a walk from the Camiño but that was also a plus as it offered a quiet, relaxed location. We would highly recommend!!

One of our favorite places to stay on our Portuguese Camino. A little off the main path (but very doable), this was an exceptional stay and experience. We wanted to break up the 16 miles between Parton and Santiago. This fit the bill (especially in a torrential downpour). The managers were superb in taking care of us. From dinner and breakfast ( included in the price!), to the cleanliness and attention to detail, I could not recommend this place higher.

A lovely place for the last stop before Santiago on the Camino, the hosts really make you feel like home and are always on hand to make sure you have everything you need. The room was very cosy, comfortable bed and couch, and the bathroom had a selection of toiletries to use, the bath and shower were great. What made the stay special was that you could go into the main house and have a beer and snacks in front of the fire, relax, talk to other guests or read, and we had a delicious dinner and breakfast, the nicest we had on the whole Camino from Porto, the effort put into the meals was amazing. Thanks so much Xing and Diego! Very short walk back onto Camino route the next morning.

Diego and Yin are the best hosts I’ve ever met! They were very friendly since we arrived and tried to make us feel at home from the beginning. The room was very clean and quiet, and the mattress super comfortable. They made a free dinner for all the pilgrims, as well as breakfast with home-made cakes. It’s 1km from Santiago’s way but it’s 100% worth the trip. Thanks for everything!

Great communication. Beautiful Casa and room. The bed was so comfortable. The unexpected evening meal was sooo tasty. Our host Diego was super friendly and helpful, even walked us in the right direction to rejoin the Camino, despite the wind and the rain. A great retreat prior to the chaos of Santiago.
