How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room was a comfortable size and the bathroom was exceptionally nice. We loved having the large doors that opened to the Juliet balcony, the double doors kept the room very quiet at night. We chose not to eat breakfast at the hotel due to the cost but here is an excellent little bakery that serves full breakfast, opens at 8 a.m., just a block away from the hotel.

This hotel is in a superb location, very close to some of Madrid's main sights. The breakfast was excellent, room service discretely done and staff very friendly. A hidden gem in a neighbourhood of many restaurants and plazas.

The furnishings are very nice but showing their age - the wallpaper is separating at the seams, we had a loose pipe cover on a bathroom wall and lots of little dings and dents throughout. It's due for a refresh.
Location, location, location. Add top notch service, large clean rooms and bathrooms and it's a complete win.

All was very good
Location is perfect just close to all the cool Tapas bars and coffee places and not on the crowdy shopping area of central Madrid but just 10 min walk from them. Rest of Madrid attractions were all a walking distance from the hotel. Room was large with King size bed - all delails were inlcuded even a very large TV with Chromecast . room service twice a day - very good service .

We stayed twice with three days between while we traveled to another city. The first room was okay but was located on the inside with a window only on a tiny courtyard area so we could not really open the window or see out. The second room we were given was much better and a bit larger, with a window that could open even though still not much view.
This place had the best beds of any place we stayed and the common areas were very nice. Also had a little bar area. Staff was friendly and helpful. They put out a complimentary snack in the afternoon and had citrus infused water on a tray in the lobby (I wold have loved the water to be available later in the evening but it was gone.)

How could you find anything not to love? This is amazing hotel to stay in!!!
The hotel is simply amazing: hotel is just great from the moment that you step in to check out: location could not be better, the service is above any expectations, breakfast is the best that we ever had in Europe, entire staff is 10 star ( in reception, in restaurant, in housekeeping).

I am struggling to think of a minus for our particular stay.
Location was excellent. Breakfast far too expensive. Housekeeping was excellent - Gallia . In room facilities were very good eg. Coffee machines, Safe, Bed comfort, Fridge. Front of house/ Reception very good & helpful.

It was exceptional..range and quality of food on offer was exceptional.All the reception staff and bar restaurant staff were incredibly professional helpful and friendly.They were above and beyond exceptional.I was staying with my elderly mother and her friend and all staff helped us …to name but two Ladislav and Emerith however all staff were exceptional.

I had no complaints.
Location was great - a short walk to the Prado and Thyssen, an easy stroll to the Plaza Major, restaurants and markets close by, transportation was easy - when tired of walking, it was very easy to catch a cab. Room was huge and well-appointed, nice balcony overlooking the Calle del Prado. Great bar and friendly bartender, a good spot to have a drink and watch a soccer game. Breakfast was a delicious spread. Attentive staff.

It was fine, no problems. Felt breakfast at 23E each was priced rather too high as could get adequate breakfast outside in square at good price.
Location in centre, easy to walk to sights. Reception staff so good even went the extra mile and located shoe repairers for me.

Beautiful hotel in fantastic location. Out room was truly lovely with an amazing bathroom and walk-in shower. Staff were accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Will definitely return.
