Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe first night was very very loud some of other guests were animals. My rooms door lock was bit stubborn and door itself not really today's standard.
Choosed for money and location, my room was OK with bathroom and clean sheets and towels. Lady at the reception was very nice, unfortunately didn't speak English but we made it 😉.

United KingdomUnfortunately, there were some noisy teenage guests in adjacent rooms - hotel could not do much about that. Also, WIFI was terrible - barely usable.
Nice, clean room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Coffee machine. Quiet street but in a good location, with easy access to several key parts of the city.

Norway-
Room was good, has good lights on the nightstand, and sockets, and heating. Room was on the first floor, facing inner patio, so there was a lack of natural light. This type of room is more suited for short stays I think. Then maybe there won't be any issues on the room cleaning either. This night I extended, as I was a bit delayed on packing my luggage. Though I did feel a little bit desperation regarding the lacking daylight in the room. However, as I walked out, I asked the woman in the reception about the cleaning, I said there was no need of cleaning the room; maybe only the towels, and toilet paper. (Cleaning the day before hadn't provided any new paper either, only collected the remains of the two rolls that was there upon my arrival), as I had left the towels on the floor. And the woman say 'ok', and all seem fine. I stay out most of the day, also to absorb some daylight. However, when I get in again, nothing in the room is touched. I go down to the reception again, as this was a bit unexpected. And also I ask for towels, as I had left previous ones on the floor, as I had prepared for checkout earlier in the day. She says something that I can only understand as "that the cleaning couldn't be done, due to my luggage on the floor". Which seems a bit incomprehensible to me as I had not requested cleaning by itself, and not in the room, only things to be exchanged in the bathroom (also the garbage was full). So that my suitcase in the room, should be of hindrance to do the things requested in the bathroom; garbage, towels and toilet paper, didn't really make a lot of sense. She gave a roll of toilet paper when I asked; garbage was still full (overflowing, when I left the next day), and when it came to towels, she said something I could only understand meant "she would bring them up later". Which brought a bit unexpected turn to my day.

NorwayThe type of room I had, maybe the most economic version of the single rooms? Are facing the backyard, with basically no natural light, and a humid, not to say wet, inner patio straight outside the window. Sound proofing might not be the best, and maybe you can hear your neighbours, from different floors.
I booked due to closeness to station (I imagined it would be easier to walk down to the station from there. An advantage I didn't need to make use of in the end, but anyway. It's close to the station ) The room itself is nice enough. But in particular this type of room is best suited for shorter stays. The disadvantage is being on the first floor, facing the inner patio. Which in a quite tall building means basically no natural daylight. (Luckily there was a window in the hallway, where the walls between buildings opened to let in a glimpse of day.) It was also raining (of course?).. With the water ending up stuck with the poor drainage on the patio, so the air quality didn't feel the best. The guy in the reception was very nice, and allowed for me to have a coffee and even a croissant, though I was delayed for breakfast. They changed towels upon request, and all seemed nice (aside from the lack of daylight and the humidity from the patio), until I extended one day too long, which turned out a waste of time. (I might mention that in a point by itself). They allow luggage storage, and the placement is quite good, and there is heating.

PortugalI did not like the shampoo packaging in 3 x 3 cm paper bag. Could not regulate the heating. However my overall rating is just above average mainly for the following: I drove to Vigo and wanted to leave my car at the hotel. Asking with 3 days notice if I could leave the car for a couple of hours more after check out, I never got an answer to that question. Second aspect regarding the parking facilities: the management ask you upfront you might need to leave the car key for them to manoeuvre the car themsleves in the parking. However, when you ask if they accept the responsabilities to pay any repairs related incorrect manoeuvre, they evade the question. At the end, I have to book a car space somewhere else.
Very central location, handy as it is 24 Hours open, can hold luggage after checking out.

NetherlandsHaving to walk up the hill when returning to the hotel, haha. Nothing content wise, I'm a happy visitor!
Great location in the center of Vigo and at a stone throw of the bus and main train station. From this place it is easy to move around on foot, as well as by one of the many buses that go around the city. The private room with interior patio is comfortable and quiet, I'm not sure if a room with street view would top it, since the location isn't really a scenic one.
