How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The owner was very welcoming and took great care of us when we arrived (a cold beer and some snacks after a long day of cycling on the Camino). He recommended a great place for dinner nearby. The room was comfortable and really quiet, so a good night’s sleep.

Can get hot without AC. But the owners were so kind to place a fan in our bedroom.

The owners were very helpful and accommodating. The boutique hotel was very beautiful and stylish. Ample parking, close to Santander ferry and and 10 minutes drive to some wonderful beaches and viewing points.

Breakfast first class, lovely white chocolate cake! Although we only had one night we managed to explore the area a little & was lovely. Love the drum kit & could have talked about music all day!

We enjoyed our stay at Coccoa Boutique hotel. We were greeted so warmly by the owners. They were extremely helpful and genuinely understanding and care for their customers. The room we stayed in was very spacious, clean and modern. Very comfortable bed, good size bathroom. The location for where we wanted to be at is perfect. I highly recommend staying with them.

We liked everything, maybe it is a little close to the motorway but it has a relaxing, peaceful feel and the motorway gives easy access to Santander.
Everything is done to a high standard, immaculately clean, very nicely decorated, the owners are super helpful, I even loved the art on the walls.

Building has a gable roof, for top floors a bit unconfortable since height is not sufficient in some parts of the room.
Super nice staff always ready/willing to help you out with information/request/or other!. Breakfast was well put together with enough options for a complete breakfast. Beach, Golf course and city centre in less than 15min!

Hard to say can not fault it. Use Google maps to find hotel as it's fairly new and difficult to find on my sat nav. You can ring Jamie he will guide you to the hotel.
A beautiful hotel on arrival we were met by Jamie so friendly and helpful could not ask for any more. The decor and furniture immaculate certainly will recommend a stay for couples.

A bigger ensuite bathroom would have been a plus, but one can't have everything.
The owner could not have been more helpful; recommended places to visit, provided beach towels, and advised on best route to our next destination. Proximity to main road will be a bonus for some. The breakfast was also good.

The only suggestion I'd make is to have breakfast available a bit earlier. It was at 8.30 - quite late for pilgrims on the Camino. But great breakfast!
Great hotel, really smart, and lovely guy running it. Also very quiet, best night of sleep I have had on the Camino.

We liked everything and will definitely go back. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
This was a real find. A few minutes from the ferry port in a peaceful, pretty village. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the owner was welcoming and very hospitable. There is an excellent bar/restaurant within a mile for dinner. Breakfast is included.
