How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Some noise from the floor above due to the wooden floor but not too bad.
Newly renovated property. The room and furniture was brand new and very clean. It had aircon. Decoration was very modern and stylish but with rustic charm. Location excellent close to shops and restaurants and the Camino route. Beds excellent. Hosts very friendly but with no English.

Rooms were so lovely after a day in the Camino. Just off the track so brilliant as a starting point the next day. Great location to supermarket and bar/restaurant's

Right on the Camino and near many good restaurants. They allowed us to check in a bit early which we really needed after a long day walking.

it is close to the street (a rural road that has some truck traffic at night)—didn’t really bother us but worth mentioning if you can ask for a rear facing room

everything was great

Excellent value place to stay in the heart of Arzua. Very friendly guy at reception welcoming weary walkers. The place is fairly new, well laid out, comfortable, great value and super clean.

We could not find the command for the airco … and the day was extremely hot
We had to leave early on the next day so they prepared a picnic for us. The place was amazing and the receptionist was very sympathetic.

Staff at front desk looked harried and stressed. Breakfast was fine but the mgt kept a sharp eye on folks taking seconds. Better charge a few more Euros and not stand around watching every morsel.

Manager, very rigid. Did not tell us that breakfast finishes at 9.00 and would not give us anything when we arrived at 9.01.

Avoid at all cost! The host is so rude that he will make your stay so unpleasant. I arrived from laundry and my friend was already in the room,he complained he had to let me in the house (he was just sitting at the reception). The breakfast was the worst part- fo avoid. It is late,at 8 am and they were not ready at 8am!!! He would give you only one drink-one juice and one coffee, one piece of salami and one piece of cheece. I asked for one more juice because i actually do not eat in the morning and he said no. Friend asled for more coffee and he said the is a coffee place open at 9 am and he should go there! People felt uncomfortable taking salami and cheese as the lady stands there and gives you nasty looks. Really unwelcoming and nasty hosts! Btw, walls are paper thin and you hear everything.

The mattress protector under the sheet was really slippy and the sheet not big enough to tuck in properly so very uncomfortable as rucked up every time you moved. Breakfast is at 8am, not well organised and pretty basic. Reception staff had no English.

Musty smell, unhelpful staff talking on the phone instead of checking people in (personal call). Breakfast at 0800, late for Camino, time passed and no sign of opening, prep, got breakfast somewhere else. Hard uncomfortable bed.
Location good to start off on the Camino in the morning but all the fun was at the other end of town.

8am time for start of breakfast is too late for several Camino Pilgrims. Given that breakfast was included I asked if I could get some bread and coffee to go at 7am when I was leaving. I explained that as I had already paid for breakfast and asked if there was anything that could be done. Host kept repeating " Breakfast from 8am". I left the establishment at 6:30 am with no breakfast.
