Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWhat a gem, the place is so well cared for. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of hot water, and immaculately clean. Call or message ahead to reserve dinner, and you will be pleased. The hotel is very close (4 min drive) from Mirador de Orellan, one of the most unique places we have visited in Europe. Thank you David for a lovely stay. Mark and Jean, USA

United KingdomAmazing location next to the old mines. This is a very traditional and beautiful building with a lot of parking space around. The key collection was very good with the code provided for the little storage box. Breakfast is included. There is a dinner option and you have to let them know in advance that you want to eat there. Food is really nice.

United StatesThis was a delightful little gem we stumbled on in Booking.com. There was a restaurant with really nice, hearty meals, the rooms were basic and small, but clean and comfortable. The staff was really lovely. Most importantly, the staff was incredibly helpful and warm. It was the perfect place to stay after a day of driving and hiking.

United StatesSuper location. I would rate it as the best in the area. right to the left up the road about 0.5 km to parking and 150-meter walk to one of the most spectacular Spain's historical sites, Roman Gold mines dating circa 50BC. accommodations were very pleasant. Breakfast and dinner were well done and v good. Other regional sites very close, 1000 ad Templar Knight's castle and more. A must area and, for us, a super hotel to stay at. Don't miss it if you are traveling NW Spain!

located near Mirador de Orellan which is a truly beautiful area. Good value accommodation. Small but not an issue if you are staying for a few days or don't spend much time in your room. Breakfast good. Plenty of parking and easy to park.

United KingdomThe walls were very thin between our room and the adjacent one so that we could hear every word the occupants said. Breakfast was basic Spanish. Tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary.
A delightful rural location and beautiful old building, tastefully restored. Helpful owners and a very reasonable and tasty dinner menu. Our room was spacious and the beds very comfy.

FranceThe chicken dish at dinner was awful, over-cooked and tough. No water supplied with dinner. The waiter/owner took my Husband’s main course plate away, before I was half way through eating my main course. It made me feel very uncomfortable. The waiter/owner was rushing us through the whole of our dinner, it made us feel very unwanted.
Excellent breakfast for this type of establishment. Good orange juice and coffee. The ambience. The bedroom was really cold on arrival, but there was a heater that we used all night.

PortugalThe fact that it’s a 25min walk from the main road and 40 min from Las Medulas and no taxi / car service at the day we were there at least. But walk back was very pleasant.
Place is spectacular, views in the morning leaving the Casa on our way to Las Medulas were insanely gorgeous and staff was so amazing they gave us breakfast the night before because we were leaving super early. Will come back !!

AustraliaPoor soundproofing - which is understandable given the old/traditional building. All night we could hear quests nearby get up to use the toilet, sneezing, talking at 3am. Definitely need to bring earplugs. Also has the 'one long pillow for 2' instead of separate pillows on double bed. This is common in Spain but we hate it! Meal was ruined by unfriendly server. Sadly this has been the trend throughout Spain - non-smiling waiters who seem to take your order under duress and then plonk your food down and stomp away. We are friendly, smiling, polite and quite Aussies... and it totally ruins our meal to feel like somehow we are offending / bothering the staff.
Perfect location for a single night/day visit to walk around the Las Medulas. Set in a really, super cool old traditional stone and wooden building. Has free parking sufficient for guests. Has a restaurant for dinner which is essential as the town is tiny and there really is no other food source. Meal was tasty and served quickly. Good hot water and shower pressure. Wifi worked well.

SpainWe could hear the people in the room next door whenever they talked. Perhaps some better sound proofing would help.
Great location, very near Las Médulas. Easy to find, easy to park. We stayed only one night, on our way south, so we didn't mind the fact that the room was small and basic. No complaints, everything was adequate.
