Not so much a don’t like as an observation of fact. The Spanish countryside is alive with chirping birds and barking farm dogs. Expect this to be a back note to your stay. We quite liked it.

A beautiful, rural traditional building within 7 minutes drive of vibrant Estapona. The home-cooked breakfast was amazing and the hospitality was wonderful.

Unfortunate barking of dogs and strange screeching animal sounds (not sure what) nearby.

Lovely, beautifully restored and maintained property off the beaten path. Pleasant indoor and outdoor spaces to sit and enjoy conversation over refreshments. Lars is a warm, gracious host, who attended to our every request, and in addition to a FABULOUS gourmet breakfast, provided us with a delicious dinner (by special request) so that we didn’t have to get back on our motorcycles for a bite to eat after a long day on the road. Guests are welcomed and cared for like longtime friends!

A little oasis on the busy Costa del Sol. Lars and Marchella are so hospitable and kind. The hotel itself has a wonderful garden and pool. We enjoyed our stay so much. The dogs are a cute addition to the stay.

This is a gem; a place to remember, an oasis of calm after a day of exploration, a classy place where you feel like family. Because the owners let you use the kitchen, (there is a fridge just for guests!) the sitting room and the living room and are so welcoming. Our room was large, across from the deep and refreshing pool, and very comfortable. There are lounge chairs on the neatly mowed grass or around the pool, and many places to sit outside. If you opt to get breakfast, you will not be disappointed. Parking is safe inside the property you access via the gate. We fell in love with Estepona. Thank you again Marcella and Lars for this memorable stay. See you next year hopefully!

Everything about this little hotel in the hill above Estepona is magnificent. The hosts, the fresh baked bread & outstanding breakfasts, surroundings, the white noise of the stream, even the cutest of dogs who add love to the stay. We will be back!

I would suggest installing an electronic gate with keypad to make it easier to access the property. This would be especially helpful at night.

The property has a lot of character, is very quiet, and convenient to Estepona. Marcelle and Lars were excellent hosts and upon leaving we felt like we had known them longer than our 2 night stay. Breakfast was very good.

Nothing! Everything was just perfect!

If you do anything at all in Estepona, you HAVE to stay at El Molino! It was quite honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Marcel and Lars are a delightful Danish/Swiss couple who excel in making you feel like it's your home from the very start. And what a home! Beautiful courtyard and garden to relax in - it was very hard to pull ourselves away and explore Estepona! For this, they can lend you electric bikes which take 5 mins to the beach and just a bit more to explore the main town (the centro historico is beautiful). Marcel and Lars gave us endless tips on where to eat etc - all of which we used, and all of which were great recommendations. Marcel even took us to the most amazing jazz night in one of her favourite bars: a really special evening. Lars was previously a top chef in Denmark, and it shows: breakfast was outstanding: I'm not normally a breakfast person but just couldn't resist the amazing platter he presented to us. All the rooms are stunning (Marcel is an architect and the imagination in the design and decor really shows). But by far the nicest thing for us was the way they made it feel much more like a home than a stuffy hotel. Can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return. Super friendly hosts. Beautiful property. Amazing room and bathroom. Delicious breakfast with homemade sourdough bread. Beautifully decorated living areas. Great restaurant recommendation from Marcella who also went to the trouble of booking a table for us.

We had never visited Estepona again and the greeting and care we received staying at this property was superb. We were about a 2km drive to the car park opposite Estepona beach (free of charge) but rural enough for it to be quiet at night. Our breakfast board prepared by Lars was absolutely superb and both he and Marcelle did everything they could to make our stay very enjoyable. The property is stunning.

Great hosts who greeted you with enthusiasm and treated you as friends. The hotel and grounds are superb. You are staying in picturesque building that was once a mill. The bedrooms are inviting, and there is a living room for relaxing. The hotel owners have preserved the original beams, doors and floors of the original structure but tastefully furnished the comfortable rooms. The hosts provide complimentary water and coffee and offer a gourmet breakfast (which is more of a brunch) if you choose to have it. The hosts provide good suggestions for day trips in the area.

Just finding property

Beautiful house, very quiet location but not far from beach, room lovely and clean...only problem was difficult to find, however that wouldn't stop me from returning.
