How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

El Chorro Wow... and I mean 'WOW'... IMMACULATE and EXCEPTIONAL!! This petite hotel is beautifully decorated and utterly gorgeous, exceptionally clean and perfectly situated. We absolutely loved it. Alex the owner, is lovely and will help you with anything you need to know. Bathroom with good shower, hot water takes a while to come through so be patient, hairdryer and lovely clean towels. Beautiful bed linen and lovely comfortable bed. Small sofa, tv, air con, coffee machine and kettle. Perfect little terrace off the room to sit with a drink and take in the beauty and relaxation if the place. Small plunge pool and lovely seating/laying area on the top terrace of the hotel overlooking the stunning mountain scenery. The staff were really friendly, happy to have a laugh and a little dance with us in the evening. Restaurant/bar area serving breakfast, Tapas from 1pm to 6pm, evening meals from 6pm to 9pm. Shuttle bus €2.50. Bus stop and ticket booth near train station and Hotel La Garganta just a short walk from the hotel. Do not hesitate to book this beautiful hotel, I can assure you you will NOT be disappointed and you will fall in love with it just as we did. Thank you so very much Alex for a lovely stay. Oh and thank you for the sweets 😘 🥰 xxx

Perfect location: A stone’s throw away from the trailhead Escalera Arabs (highly recommend the hike!) and the finish line of the Caminito del Rey. Walking distance to the train station.

Location is right at end of Caminto and really stylish. The beds are super comfortable and the balconies are a great addition with great views of the mountain and lakes.

Having to leave
The Alex and Salvi were very knowledgeable and helpful. She was very accommodating especially when we arrived back late just as the kitchen closed but she was still happy for us to order. The terrace and balcony views were spectacular and perfect to enjoy a coffee on! The location was perfect for accessing the Del Ray and ferrata as well as only being a 5min walk from the train station

Pretty the swimming pool was not in use, but that was a legal thing, not the hotel’s choice.
Great location, very friendly staff ( thumbs up for Isabel) and clean, comfortable rooms.

We loved our stay! There is so much attention to detail: the room was beautiful, the food was very tasty and the staff is so friendly. The best for us was that the hotel is at the end of Camino del Rey and we enjoyed our gin-tonics in the sunset at the rooftop.

El nido del Chorro is a small 'family' run hotel with eye for detail and comfort. It's situated at the end of the 'Caminito del Rey', it's very convenient to take the shuttle which leaves near the hotel to take you to the start of the 'Caminito' and when you reached the end you're back at your place. The staff is very friendly, they prepare you a home made meal.

A wonderful peaceful place with a great view. The room we stayed in was really nice, with a comfy bed and a lovely terrace. The meals a offered throughout the day - home-cooked and tasty, though seem to be a bit overpriced.

Interior is very charming, superclean room, very comfy bed, great terrace, unfortunatelly we didn't have enough time to stay more and enjoy it. It is perfect point for Caminito del Ray trip.

Lovely little place tucked away in El Chorro. The room was lovely and tastefully decorated. It had a large extremely comfortable bed and nice big bathroom with a good shower. The view from our window was breathtaking. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I can't fault this place and we look forward to returning.

This accommodation is truly a gem. The room was clean and super comfortable with enough space. Every room has its own balcony which is just a pure luxury with this amazing view of the rocks/hills. The staff was incredibly friendly and helped us with every request. They also made sure that we as vegans would find something to eat in the restaurant and it was delicious! They even bought soy milk for us, which I found very thoughtful. Also the location is truly perfect if you want to do the caminito del rey or just want to go hiking or climbing around the area. And all of that for a super fair and affordable price.

Our room was amazing and personnel and owner were really nice and helpful with our tour to Caminito del Rey. We got a lot of important informations. Hotel is around 200 meters from bus to Caminito and really close to finish. We had a very delicious dinner there, even we came late.

We went off season (February) and there was no heating in the room, so it was quite cold. Not all the staff speak English as stated on Booking.
Extremely friendly staff, nice location, beautiful view, great food in the restaurant, nice bathroom
