How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Clean and nice room with a comfortable bed. The room has all the necessary things needed for a short stay. Great bathroom. Good instructions for online check-in.

The room was spacious and clean and Christina at the front desk was very helpful. Right across from the castle and a short walk to town centre.

I wasn't informed that there would be someone coming to clean my room every day, was surprised to see that someone was in my room after being out all day. Not many restaurants around the area but a short bus ride into the town centre where there are plenty of restaurants.
Really nice room, enjoyed my stay. Bathroom was amazing and the water pressure was to die for! Location was very convenient with a bus stop round the corner (including the airport bus) and Castell de Santa Bàrbara was across the road.

For 45€/night: it has good location, 15min or so from the beach and it's clean and new.

The hotel has very good location. The room was big. The girls at the reception are very nice and helpful. We checked in later and we got all the information correctly for self check in.

Not much to dislike apart from the view.
Well presented, clean and spacious private room. Close to Marq Castillo Station and the Castle. 20 minutes to port and city centre.

there was nothing to dislike
price, comfort and most valuable - friendly service. I arrived at night, the reception was closed, but the staff made sure that I could get to my room and to the garage, where I had a reserved parking space.

The airport bus stop and tram stop is only a 2 min walk away. We were given really clear check in instructions and we could leave our luggage at reception on the final day. We could use Netflix, Good value for money.

Nothing to do with El Patio, but rather a couple of the guests. On two consecutive nights, I was wakened after 2am by very loud talking, laughing, which went on for over an hour. Reception girl was very helpful and it was mentioned to the offending guests (denied by them, of course!)
Lovely clean bright accommodation. Super shower! Easy walk to both beach and city (old and new). C26 (airport bus) - the stop is a few steps away.

Walls are really thin you can hear everything from next room, but they give you ear plugs.

The staff was friendly, large room, very clean. There is a common area with vending machines. Close to several bus stops. The town centre is about 15/20 minutes walk, so it is not super central

Really clean and nice room, very kind staff. The property has good location next to the castle, 10 min walk to reach the top from the apartment. Highly recommended!

Mattress was too soft but that's just being picky
Fantastic value for money. Our march trip cost us 50 euro per night, which is mega, considering the location across the street from Santa Barbara castle park, airport line bus stop, tram station and couple of local restaurants (Almendra ♥️). We got a massive room, you could have a pet elephant and it will fit there. The bed was also very big, though the mattress was super soft so I felt like rolling down but apart from that - no issues. Bathroom - also big and clean. Towels changed everyday if needed, bedding every 3 days. Self check-in after hours - instructions received on WhatsApp, fantastic process. Room was very quiet, solid double glazed windows so if you close them there will be no sound coming in.

There is no breakfast service, but there is a cafeteria next door so it's not a problem.
The staff is friendly and super helpful, but my favorite part was that everything in the room (floors, wardrobes, bathroom) was super clean!
