Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bed linen and towels on arrival were of very poor quality and stained. No mattress cover. This all made the bed unpleasant to sleep in. After 2 nights, the sheets were changed and a mattress cover provided. It would be useful to have a small fridge for drinks as the bar downstairs doesn’t open until 8.00 pm.
Whilst the bedroom and bathroom were basic, they were very clean and there was a nice balcony with chairs and a table

United KingdomWe were unable to get into the hotel for almost 2 hours after we arrived. It was a long walk up hill from the town. It was noisy at times.
The room was basic, but clean. The restaurant was good, very inexpensive evening meals.

BelgiumThe restaurant below is quite busy so if you are sensitive to the noise or want to go to bed very early it might not be for you. It was not a problem for me.
Little hotel located above the busy restaurant 5 mins walk from the heart of the Teror village. The room was surprisingly spacious, with a lovely balcony looking towards the hills and neighbouring villages. The bathroom was nice and clean with enough towels. The hotel is very well located a brief walk from restaurants, bars, bus station and supermarket. It might seem a bit basic if you expect fluffy towels and white industrial furnishings but it's a cosy place to stay in Teror on budget.

Czech RepublicBathroom was little moldy on the ceiling and the ventilator was missing there. The location is quite top of the town nad little bit side from everything. But I liked the part of the town ;)
The view from the terrace was quite nice. There was also air conditioning at the room.

United KingdomThe room was very noisy. We could hear people entering the house, people in the neighboring rooms, trucks on the road and noise from the restaurant downstairs. Some facilities such as a water boiler or refrigerator would have been nice even if only in the common area.
The room was as expected considering the rather low price. The balcony was nice and had basic table and chairs, beds were comfortable, room was spaceous and the shower was good. We were lucky to be located close to the common area and had WIFI in our room.

United KingdomCheck in was a bit complicated - somehow we had been allocated one double bed instead of two singles - but we got a suitable room in the end. A kettle in the room would have been appreciated, as would a wifi booster to ensure all rooms have wifi without needing to move to common areas.
Nice quiet rooms with comfortable beds in a well-located hotel, for a reasonable price. Also a nice balcony.

United KingdomAbsolutely everything, as I remember it was room number 7, there was no beds, just two single cots, smell was very bad, furniture falling apart, so as the shower handle. There was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom, how am I supposed to wash my hands after using toilet?! so I had to go to local shop to buy myself a shower gel and soap. And I have been charged €50 for one night! A guy on reception speaks zero English, but I’m not complaining about it, it’s 21st century we can easily communicate with translator, no problem. But that gentleman was the only employee in that hotel, he’s a receptionist, bartender, dishwasher and probably maintenance guy as well, not sure. Dear owner, can you please invest at least a little bit in your “hotel” and please look after your staff, they might need some help.

HungaryAt this price, nothing.
The hotel is above a restaurant called Chano, I guess it is owned by the same family. The accommodation is perfectly okay for a short stay, it’s simple but has everything a traveler needs. Parking is marked not available on site but it is easy to find place on the street of the hotel. The village is safe, carjacking is not an issue here plus the local police office is very close to the place. We really liked the staff everybody was super nice, they offered a hearty breakfast which was delicious. I loved the original atmosphere of the restaurant it was good to get a glimpse into the locals life. It is true that the hotel is a bit further from the historical old town which has to be taken into consideration by the elderly. For me and my wife who was in her 14th week it was perfectly okay to take this cca 15-20 mins walk, but it’s true that the way back leads uphill and it equals a soft cardio training highly recommended before going to bed. :) Teror is beautiful, it’s a must for travelers who are craving for more than the beach.
