How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Lovely hotel set in rural location . Clean rooms everything you need in them staff really friendly and helpful meals available breakfast there was a good selection . I would definitely recommend the EL ZAMACEN and will be staying there again .. Thankyou .

Location very scenic. Evening meal very good and local advice on menu very helpful. On the road early so no breakfast which was included in price.

What a special place! Super friendly staff, restaurant for dinner was delicious, lovely surroundings, super clean and excellent value for money.

The location is perfect just a short distance of the A23 on our return to Santander Port. Excellent walks for our 2 dogs from the hotel.The staff are extremely helpful with limited English spoken. The menu is available in English so that helps a lot. Love Burbaguena will always try to stay at this location.

The hotel is set back from the village so no traffic noise at all. On arrival although the staff were extremely busy with a party for the women of the village we were checked in quickly and shown to our room. The room was large, spotlessly clean, nice and warm and the beds were very comfortable. There was a large wardrobe. The bathroom was large and roomy. We didn't have an evening meal but we had breakfast and it was plenty, good coffee too.

It was closed until 6pm and is every day. Nothing in the listing about it being closed and the hotel only messaged us about it being closed after we had tried to go in.
The food. Come here for the food. Great meal and great value.

Slightly scruffy arrival area outside.
Charming with beautiful art work every where.Mateo and Ruben who were on reception, bar and waiting at tables were especially delightful as was Ana who was cleaning the bedrooms. The food was delicious. We will return to make sure we try the cecina.

This is an excellent place for a stopover, just a few kilometres off the A23. We had a comfortable bed and good, powerful shower. There's a bar and a good restaurant in the hotel, a large parking area just in front of the hotel. Decent breakfast to start the next leg of our journey. Recommended.

Very friendly and helpful staff.Had a wonderful meal there at a very reasonable price.They even let our little dog in the restaurant with us.Full of friendly Spanish locals enjoying a drink and the local cuisine.Will be returning in December as perfect for a stopover en route to South Spain.

I'm afraid that the surround of the shower enclosure was in need of a bit of an extra clean and high in the skylight of the bathroom ceiling there was a couple of square feet of black mould on the ceiling which was long overdue for a clean.
Our hosts were extremely friendly and gave us and our pets a very warm welcome. We were also welcomed by their local guests at the bar (in hybrid Spanish/English) which made for a pleasant evening. The bedroom was excellent with a very comfy bed. The building is a converted barn with the watercourse running under a glass viewing window in the floor of the restaurant. The restaurant was full that evening (a Saturday) but we had booked ahead and had an excellent meal. The location was good, with easy access and was in a nice setting, with walks/cycling along the adjacent disused railway track, alongside the river.
