Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicLights in the room were rather dim, which made the room itself a bit gloomy when it was dark, although with different lighting it could have been cozy.
Beautiful historical house, absolutely wonderful and charming common areas. Breakfast was good and gluten allergy was taken into account. The family's own bananas are on offer the whole day through (nice touch). Potable quality tap water coming from the mountain spring.

United Kingdomthere wasn’t anything that we disliked
we loved the fact that it was a beautifully and faithfully restored historic property. the room was comfortable and the communal areas were inviting and relaxing with tea/coffee/wine etc available 24/7 free of charge. the owners were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. they were as delighted to share the property with guests as we were to stay there and were available all of the time.

CanadaRooms somewhat dark and could be renovated.
Beautiful old hotel in the centre of the old town. Rooms around a courtyard but quiet. We were there at Christmas and all the local restaurants were closed in the evening, so the hostess prepared sandwiches for the guests and set up tables so we could take out from the nearby Chinese restaurant.

United KingdomLoved it all
This is a beautifully restored property oozing with character and class. It is situated in a small town with stunning views of Tiede. The service from Estefania was incredible and she helped us so much with our itinerary planning. The breakfast is massive and so we never had to eat again until 1700 at least. You will need a car to get around but the roads are excellent. This is an ideal location for a classy stay on Tenerife away from the tourist centres.

GermanyThe location is central which we found ideal, the only down side was that there seemed to be several dogs in surrounding buildings that the owners either leave on their balcony all night or near an open window while they are out for the evening. This resulted in a few nights in which one could hear constant yapping lasting a couple of hours. Once one dog started they would all get going and at times you’d have a chorus of several dogs carrying on. Noise separation between rooms could also be an issue. We were fortunate in that our neighbors were not up late talking or watching tv while we tried to sleep because if they had been you would hear it, even at a reasonable volume.
The hotel was simply a treat to stay in. Such a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere. We found it the perfect place to retire to after a day hiking. The snack bar with complimentary coffee and wine and other treats made relaxing in the courtyard very pleasant indeed. We found the beds very comfortable in our room. The host was phenomenal. So thoughtful in regards to what needs and questions a guest would have and always had the answer. Directions, attractions, where is good to eat what food what day, things to avoid, etc. The breakfast was also always excellent.

RomaniaThe wifi didn't reach our room so we had to stay in the courtyard for internet (which was not bad at all considering how nice it was in there). Also, after a few minutes of using warm water, we only had cold water and had to wait again for a while to get it warm. This was not very pleasant considering we discovered in the middle of the shower. A heads up would have been nice. However, the hotel still remains in my opinion one of the best options you can get. I am sure these small discomforts could be easily fixed by the host.
The hotel it's simply amazing! The design of the rooms, the courtyard are simply stunning and so cosy. We spend half of the day just relaxing in the courtyard. Such a tranquil and quiet oasis in the middle of the city! The host is so friendly! They had free wine, coffee and some sweets for all the guests. This was a huge plus for our stay!

SpainThe breakfast was a little disappointing. Fresh juice was a plus, but bread and other ingredients weren't anything special. If I had known, I would have looked for breakfast elsewhere. Also: The walls are a little thin.

an oasis in the middle of town and a calmness as soon as you walk through the door. Estefania was so very welcoming and helpful with any queries and gave us lots of suggestions for walks and restaurants. This little hotel is a special place, the rooms are very nicely presented and the bed was very very large and comfy.

AustriaThere is few space to dry wet swimming equipment, however we managed well. Some rooms open to the yard (ours did) and due to the building style of the historical yard, there is not too much light in the room. However the room itself was very beautiful and felt really comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay.
Breakfast: exceptional, started with a smoothie (bananas from the owner's farm), fruits & yoghurt, muesli, serrano ham, ham, eggs, bread, butter, honey, coffee, tea, as much as you like. It must be mentioned, that the hotel offers coffee and tea during the day and the evening for free on a "help yourself" base. Also there is always a bottle of red wine available as a complimentary service for free. Free bananans and small cakes add up to a wonderful possibility of a "sun downer" before going to bed. The hotel is "owner-lead" by Steffi, who is another USP of the hotel. She helps with any problems: for us she organized a taxi service to the Teide (we started mid-night), provided tips for the best restaurants, tips for the best beaches etc. Room: the hotel was built in 1776 and has an exemptional flair. The rooms are located in the first floor around a beautiful yard with palm trees and a fountain. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. From an overall perspective this is the most beautiful hotel we ever stayed at. It should be noticed that we prefer small hotels and an individual style over the bigger hotels with the "same as everywhere" international standard. Location: the hotel is in the old city of Icod. Restaurants and shops are close. If you arrive by bus (Titsa, as we did) the walk from the bus station (Estacion Icod) is around 15 mins. Be aware, that you have to go uphill (not long but steep). Thus maybe it is a good idea to go by bus to Puerto de la Cruz and take a taxi from there to Icod (costs around EUR 35 for the taxi). Otherwise Titsa bus 363 brings you from Puerto to Icod in around 1:10 hours. The hotel offers a parking place in a garage nearby for free. If you arrive by car, we suggest to stop at the hotel entrance to drop off the luggage and park the car somewhere nearby afterwards.

United StatesThis place is a little oasis in the middle of the city. Estefania at the front desk was the perfect host. She is so helpful with every bit of information and makes the whole stay feel like you’re staying at a family member’s house. Cannot recommend this place enough. The breakfast is great and the included parking is amazing. Don’t hesitate on staying here. Ask for a room with a window towards the street for some airflow. The ones facing the courtyard are cute but can get a bit stuffy.

GermanyStrange and uncomfortable smell in the bathroom after taking a shower. As the bathroom had no window there was no possibility for us to get rid of this smell when we were in the room. The smell was gone every evening when we returned from our trips to the hotel, but reappearred when we took a shower.
Very friendly host, she takes a lot of time to give recommendations on places to visit, hikes etc. Wonderful breakfast with a variety of choices. You can drink wine/coffee and eat fruits/cake the whole day (included in price). If there wasnt the issue with the smell in the bathroom we would have given 10 points!

BelgiumA hidden gem in Icod de los Vinos with the best host ever. When standing in front of the hotel we didn’t really know what to expect... but once the front door opened we were overwhelmed by its beauty. The host isn’t present in the hotel 24/24 and we were asked to give a call once we arrived in the village as it only took her 5min to arrive. Estefanía is however reachable per whatsapp 24/24. Check in went smoothly and we were given lots of recommendations for hikes, nearby villages to explore, bars and restaurants (which was very much appreciated). As not all guests had checked in yet we were given a tour around the still available rooms and were allowed to choose the one we liked the most. The rooms are rather basic with a small private bathroom... but spotlessly clean. Coffee, tea and cake are provided free of charge during the day/night downstairs. Breakfast was served on the beautiful patio between the trees, plants and fountain. There was no buffet but an extensive table service breakfast. We could choose between a range of fresh and delicious food and drinks. After checkout we were given a key to the front door so we could leave our bags in the hotel while exploring this part of Tenerife. Estefanía informed us about a nice trick to park our car in front of the hotel to pick up our bags in the afternoon. If I can give one “remark”... please do adjust your price. It’s way tooooooo low for what you get. We still can’t believe we paid so little when you consider the extensive breakfast ánd the parking in the village center was included. To summarize: a perfect stay with a wonderful enthusiastic host Estefanía!

One of the best hotels I have ever been! Located center of the city, walking distance to many good restaurants and parking -which provided for free. Once you enter the doors of the hotel, a beautiful patio welcomes you and you forget you were in the city. Really comfortable&big beds combined with many pillows makes you wanna stay in bed all the time. What made me leave the room was the great breakfast which is included again :) Room, common areas, patio are all clean and great breakfast with fresh fruits we loved the most. It was also fascinating to see the pictures of the house before renovation. You can feel the effort and passion given to create such a beautiful hotel. It’s full of hard work and history around. With Estefanía’s friendly and sincere approach, we felt like we were guests at a friend’s house. She always comes up with great recommendations and local tips. Thanks again for exceptional time we had there!

United KingdomAs a very old building converted into a hotel some of the rooms have only very small windows making them dark and a little musty. Piped music at all times in the common areas. Arriving and unloading luggage is complicated and has to be done at a preagreed time and car parking facilities are not close by. You need a pilots license to operate the shower which has a "joy stick" type control. Staying in Icod over the weekend means that there are fewer restaurants open and on Sunday evening virtually all are closed.
Giovana, on reception, was very helpful during our stay. Hospitality in the common area was very welcome as there is no tea/coffee making in the room. Breakfast was very good.

AustriaThe room was poorly soundproof, we could hear our neighbors cough and walk around, which was a little strange. Our room was very dark. The only window was placed towards the corridor and so we had to leave the curtains closed. We hab no trash can in our room. The bathroom smelled a bit strange, but I think that it had to do with the sewer, because it was clean.
The patio, (breakfast area) was very beautiful and special. There was free coffee, tea, muffins, bananas and red wine outside the breakfast time, which is very thoughtful. The staff was extremely nice and gave us all kinds of information about the city and showed interest in our wellbeing. The hotel is a beautiful historical building. The chessboard and the reading area was very nice to have. The bed was really comfortable.
