This hotel is a perfect location just a few blocks from the Placa de Sol. There is a metro station at Sol and one at Opera (which is 2 blocks from the hotel in the other direction) so catching the metro to go all around Madrid is very easy! The employees (shout out to Emilio & Daril) are all very helpful and welcoming! Breakfast is full of choices. Each day it varies a bit to try to satisfy all kinds of tastes. There are boiled eggs every day (but you can ask them to make you scrambled eggs or an omellette filled with your favorites), There are sausages, iberico ham, thinly sliced meats, cheeses, peppers (red and green), assorted yogurts, fried rice, egg drop soup with vegetables, beans, flan and other sweets, fresh sliced oranges, melons, grapes, pineapple, bananas, etc., salad lettuces, tomatoes, pancakes, honey, nutella, jellies & jams. The bread selection is amazing: all types of croissants, local breads, cinnamon rolls, pastries, muffins, etc. And I must not forget to tell you about the Coffee Machine that offers every combination of coffee you can imagine, including decaf which is a must for me! They also have varied tea bags if you prefer tea. Breakfast is available from 7am-11am. I've probably missed a few items but wanted to let you know how wonderfully you can start your day at Hotel Francisco I! It is of great value! We had a room with twin beds that was very comfortable. You must put your room card in a slot upon entering to supply electricity to the room. The heating is on in hotels certain months of the year and the air conditioning is on certain months in many hotels in Europe to conserve energy. Madrid hotels follow this pattern. When we arrived the air conditioning had already been turned on so there was no heat. We had a day or two of cold weather so asked for blankets. We got those but 2 space heaters were brought to our room, also! A VERY CLEAN hotel! I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again upon my return!!!!!!

Bathroom - no privacy. Bed was comfortable, but it was two twins pushed together, and they kept separating, and we had items fall between the cracks.

Some of our party were originally given a double room instead of a twin. The shower and toilet were practically in the bedroom with very skimpy glass partitions. There was not a separate bathroom. This would not be suitable for friends sharing or indeed some couples may not like that level of "intimacy". Bathroom toiletries in shower were a combined shampoo/shower gel which is not good for washing long hair!

Location perfect for exploring several main tourist attractions on foot. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel had quirky features and unusual decor. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Beds, pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable.

Excellent location in the center so its possible to see main atractions by foot. Lots of restaurans and bars near by. Room was great, comfy and very clean. Friendly and professional staff. We really enjoyed our stay here and definetly will be back. We recommend this hotel highly.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel. The location was exceptional, allowing easy access to city attractions. The cleanliness was top-notch, thanks to diligent house keeping team. The modern rooms were stylish and comfortable.

There’s a bit moldy scent in the room, we opened the window for a few minutes each time we came back to the room.

This place has the best location, right in the center, we walked everywhere. The staff was great, both at the lobby and at the room cleaning. The Nespresso machine in the room is a big plus, we also allot a kettle when we asked.

We didn't get queen-bed and we couldn't mirror our phones/they haven't had smart TV so couldn't watch Netflix etc.

Almost no lobby. Restaurant is a bit small. We had few incidents with the doors which wasn’t working properly. At one time a maintenance guy had to break the door.

It’s very noisy outside at night, so thicker windows would be better. Also, the bathroom in the room is all glass which is a little awkward.

The breakfast is not a good idea - very poor choice for a 4* hotel and unfortunately, the room is very small, noisy, uncomfortable and 4 out of 4 days, we had to wait in line in the lobby (with nowhere to sit) for 15+ minutes to get a seat. Apart from the breakfast, everything was great, but this really ruins the picture.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel with wonderful staff. The location was perfect - right in the centre within walking distance of all attractions. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb! We have already recommended to friends and wouldn’t hesitate to go back! Fantastic experience all round!
