After winding up through the beautiful town of Getaria and into the surrounding vineyards, you find yourself at Golindo Goikoa. The house is absolutely gorgeous and in a truly idyllic location, with views over the town and over the coast. It’s easy to get to by car and other towns are easily accessible, like Zarautz. It’s also only a 10-15 minute walk down into the centre of Getaria from the house and very easy to catch public transport to the neighbouring towns from there. Juanjo and his family are incredible hosts - wonderfully helpful and full of interesting information about the region and things to do in the surrounds. It’s amazing to have the local knowledge from them when you arrive to help you figure out what you’d like to do during your stay. We absolutely fell in love with this place and would highly recommend it. Eskerrikasko!

Nothing. Just be aware upstairs is warm and there is just the fan.

This beautiful property is in farmland above the little town of Getaria, we loved it. Mirene, our hostess was so kind and helpful collecting us from the bus station, taking us up and down the hill at night, although we enjoyed the walk by day also. She suggested a festival in Zarautz to go to, which we really enjoyed, we got there by bus. Mirene also drove us to Bilbao, our next stop in our trip, which really was above and beyond. The room has gorgeous views and we were lucky to have warm to hot weather, we used the fan constantly through the night ! I didn't get to swim as I was unwell on the last day, but the beach looked lovely. Breakfast was also good.

Very minor things and just so others know: 1.GPS was not working well and the place was hard to find. We drove around for a while and had to stop at a restaurant to ask for help. 2.The house had a very steep driveway and was hard to get in and out. 3. Prepare to walk through the pasture going to town. Good hiking shoes is recommended. 3. It could be nice to have had plates, glassware and utensils available for guests. Again, all of the above was not an issue for us but may help others to know that.

that it didn’t have air con but we knew in advance and there was a fan in the room which was needed.

the hosts were so wonderful and welcoming. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Dropped us down to the town so we could eat that evening and offered to pick us up afterwards. Breakfast kept coming! fruit, yogurt, cereal, 4 types of bread and homemade jams as well as cake and our hostess comes out with hot freshly made tortilla to give us strength for next stage of Camino! I had to roll up the hill😂

We had an amazing stay at Juanjo’s place ! The place is well decorated, the breakfast delicious. Juanjo and his family gave us a warm welcome and was always available for recommendations ! The place is just 10min walking from Getaria and you can enjoy nice sunrise and sunset. We’ll come back happily :)

We were welcomed by very friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. They gave us an explanation of the whole village, only 15min walking. They even went out of their way to take is on a tour. We felt like we were part of the family. Strongly recommended.

We had a great stay and were actually almost sad we only booked one night- as we were on a roadtrip- verything was great and we really appreciated the hospitality. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones we've ever slept in. Would absolutely recommend!

Lovely house, lovely people. Clean and tidy, the place is beautiful on the inside and outside. Breakfast is one of the best we have tried. The location is great, and there is a shortcut that gets you from the house down to the port in 15 min walking (not a problem if you don't have a car). The garden gives you a very warm feeling together with all the rest, and the view, be it the sea view or the hill view is breathtaking. We really wish we could have stayed more. :) Truly recommend it (you won't find a more exceptional place)!

The hosts were incredible, so kind, interesting, helpful. It was a highlight of our trip to stay with them. The farmhouse has beautiful views and sunsets. Everything was super comfortable and clean. Highly highly recommended for an authentic Basque experience.
