How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The rooms were adjoining and there wasn't much sound proofing. It was quite easy to hear neighbouring rooms guests talking through the adjoining doors/walls. The smart TV in the room seemed to lack 'smart' options, and had few channels to choose from (only 1 in English - the news!).
The room was incredibly spacious with a huge balcony. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Bathroom was adequate and clean, with amenities provided. Our stay included one time access to the Spa which was small, but pleasant. The breakfast was fantastic - a mixture of continental pastries, hot food and fruits. The staff were very helpful and suggested some lovely local restaurants away from the tourist areas. The location of the hotel was easily within walking distance to the city centre (approximately 10 minutes walk to La Rambla) and the area felt safe.

Paying for the Spa!
We liked the friendly welcome we received and the hotel facilities. Our room was big and very clean and the breakfast was amazing we loved it! The location was good too!

The restaurant for dinner is not ideal with teenagers. Very limited menu. We ordered croquets and 4 of them were still frozen inside and we got charged despite returning them. Sadly the welcome drink can‘t be enjoyed while ordering the dinner, we had to sit at the bar and then move to the table.
Amazing breakfast buffet! With even bubbles and fantastic presentation. Delicious! Extremely welcome and charming reception staff.

Definitely not 4 stars!! While Clem and comfortable was missing that 4 starts feeling.

The surroundings are not the best, but it has not much to do with the hotel itself.
The room is beautiful, the terrace very nice, we used the spa and hotels bar, everything was pleasant. The staff very friendly and helpful!

This year I booked the same room type like last year. but now there was no sun bed on the balcony. Last year I was able to pay by credit card, but this year I had to go out, use ATM and pay by cash, as the card terminal kept showing error. There are continuous reconstructions around the hotel, part of the sidewalks are blocked.
Nice spa in the hotel. Easy access to the downtown. Fundació Joan Miró, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya are within walking distance with amazing view to the city.

Annoying that we didn’t know we’d have to pay to use the spa facilities. Housekeeping could be improved because we had a couple of issues with towels missing both days.
Lovely modern hotel in a quiet neighbourhood.

Missing table space and place to put things. Weird with no sink in the bathroom and no lock on the door. The view was not fantastic.
Joyful staff. Close proximity to city and transport. Really really good breakfast. Good beds and lighting - room in general. The big mirrors. 24/7 open.

We loved the breakfast. It was incredibly diverse and satisfying. We also found the location great because the metro station was close by and if we wanted to take a little walk, we could also get to the major sights within half an hour. The hotel staff provided excellent service and help if anything was amiss.

Good location, nice spacious rooms, very nice breakfast. Restaurant not staffed adequately - food was poor, everything was undercooked & cold. Apart from our restaurant experience, we enjoyed the hotel.
