The wifi didn't work very well. It caused my some troubles because I had to use it for work. Also the room needed a bit more of maintenance (especially the wallpaper that had tons of scratches. However, the bathroom was just perfect.

Location is superb; you can't get more value for the money in Madrid centre. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, no noise at all, a humble yet nice and cozy place that is perfect for budget travellers.

Rooms were a bit old, not clean (except the bed). Very nice hostal but needs some new painting, deep-clean and stuff.

Very good location, close to Gran via, and restaurants, metro, and sightseeing locations. Nice staff. They made the bed every day, and every second day new sheets.

The apartment needs to be refurbished. This was our first time in Madrid but the apartment was filled with pictures of US- NYC. Why? So many beautiful places in Spain. Kitchen supplies was lacking. 2 teacups a couple of plates was basically it.

Location was great though the building was old and not very appealing. Basic beds.

There is a lot of noices all the time in the night and the rooms are next to each other and you can hear everything. The shower is a bit small too. And it was a bit hard to find the place since there wasnt a clear sign outside.

It's nice to get a room with balcony. During the day that is. At night you might want one without - skateboarders on one side of the building, party goers on the other side: it will get noisy. Bring ear plugs. I knew this - and accept it as the location is perfect, hotel staff is friendly and the room is generally nice.

very poor bathroom facilities- shower was tiny and difficult to regulate-no room to place cosmetics very noisy street environment- right next to a skate park, where skaters rode well into the night , making sleep difficult not easy to find- doorway unmarked dingy corridors

Staff was not working properly. Really do not reccomend this place if you have a late flight and coming to Madrid at night. The check-in service works until 11pm, after that ypu get a number that you have to call and they will come. In our case nobody answered for 10minutes, when the guy answered he was very sleepy, not just that he could not speak english, he was not even trying to help us get inside to the hotel. After we managed to come in, he took the pasports and wanted to keep them for night, which is super weird because usually they scan it and return immediately.

the bar downstairs in the alley. Brutally noisy til 5am in the morning. We had to leave at 6am so I could not tell you how much longer the noise was going on.

Better soundproofing would improve the experience -and some kind of cups or glasses are needed in the rooms.

I have stayed here already many times. So I obviously like the hostal. To be given an inside room was a bonus; the rooms facing the square and road can get very noisy, especially in weekends. The room was adequate - still missing drinking glasses though.
