Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA bit different than what I am used to with Booking.com - this property requires a separate 'damage deposit', and actually understanding correspondence related to this was confusing. Had to deal with this upon arrival, and property manager was a little difficult to reach. Generally, a confusing and frustrating process to get deposit taken care of and then gaining access to the property. Just based on this, I would not stay here again. Otherwise, perfectly fine place to stay.

RomaniaIt is a quite used compared to the pictures, and smaller. We were 4 adults with 4 children and looking for something bigger than a hotel room, so it was a bit disappointing. We had to pay a 300€ euro deposit for cleaning and maintenance. It was returned quickly, but still, for the amount paid I think it's an overkill.
Very, very close to Sagrada Familia and turistic buses. Restaurants and shops nearby. Thanks to the hosts policy, it was pretty quiet in the building. Helpful hosts, quick to answer to our request.

United StatesNo windows in central living area nor kitchen, so not a lot of natural light. Only soap and shampoo nor conditioner. Very loud drilling and construction noise from above. Neighbors knocking on door 4 times saying something in Spanish. We were scared because we have had theft issues in Spain before. We kept doors locked. Later we found out the neighbors above dropped something but when we looked there was nothing. So very strange and annoying. Check-in process is terrible. Nobody meets you. Everything is done online. All I wanted to know was how to get inside at 3pm check in but they never communicated how it would be done in advance. If you do not have WiFi you will be out of luck. 2 hours before check-in you get a link from booking, com portal to register all guests. This took forever to try and upload and fill out all the passport info etc and take scans of them while we sat outside a restaurant until 3pm. It literally took hours and we couldn’t figure out the link to submit all info with all guest signatures etc. I’ve checked into hundreds of Airbnbs and thousands of hotels in my life. This was the absolute worst. At the moment of 3pm they finally sent a code to access the door. It was stressful and the employees at restaurant below said it’s a problem with many many guests- confusing and ruined our afternoon not knowing how we would get inside, as we had an afternoon of tours after dropping luggage off. Also 2 hours before you arrive you have to pay on the booking.com portal a small tax fee before check-in, so make sure you have access to WiFi. The whole booking.com process with all these messages with links to payments was just terrible. What would make it easier would be to just pay in full upon booking the reservation rather than try and figure out all these messages you get up until your arrival. Next time I’m just going to book a hotel, and need to review my credit card to see if I double paid something on booking.
Steps from Sagrada Familia. But very touristy. Apartment is nice inside. Some rooms are small. Strong water pressure in shower.

IrelandThe following is very situational, so this likely won’t happen during your stay: - Barcelona City doing work causing a late check in of 17:00 - Really loud builders from 8am disturbing sleep - Allowed late check out but cleaners showed up early so we’d to rush out
Excellent location, quick responses on WhatsApp. Comfortable beds and nice layout & rooftop

IrelandShower tray in bathroom was leaking out water which we needed to mop up. The soap dispensers in both bathrooms were empty or ran out fast requiring us the buy more and also not enough toilet paper for 7 people for 3 days we had to buy more also. The welcome pack of tea/coffee etc was 2 teabags and a tiny bottle of oil and vinegar which felt like a token gesture really.
Location was good. It looked like it’s pictures. We were able to check in early which we appreciated as one of our party was unwell on our flight.

Canada1. Didn't have the option for laundry. 2. The Air Conditioning was not working as per the temperature setting. We kept the thermostat at 17 degrees during the whole stay, but the rooms were never cold enough. 2. Since it's next to Sagrada Familia, there is a lot of bike and vehicle movement at night. 3. There is no good view from the apartment windows. 5. The upper apartment personnel throw cigarette buds onto the apartment balcony. 6. The 4th-floor personnel use the person lift to move bicycles. There were a total of 7-8 people. 7. No car parking available.
1. The property location was excellent. It was a 1-minute walk from Sagrada Familia. 2. Amazing restaurants/bars nearby. 3. Well connected by public transport. 4. Spacious apartment. 5. The host was accommodating. They let us check in early.

SpainThe shower flooring is not effective in draining the water efficiently so water would spill out and wet the main bathroom flooring. Also the bathrooms did not have an exhaust.
check and checkout went smoothly even when we asked to check in earlier by an hour, and asked for late checkout. Location is perfect as we wanted to see Sagrada Familia at different times of the day. It's also very near a metro station, and groceries.

United States*small upgrades are needed in the bathroom, so there is no water damage being created every time someone showers *The only trouble that we had was probably our fault because even though we paid for the apartment long in advance, we could not pay the deposit couple of days before as we were traveling in other countries with no easy access to the email... We arrived at the apartment, and we couldn't get in. After a few phone calls (we felt as the staff ignored us after the first 2), we followed the instructions, paid the deposit and got in, but it was not fun to wait on the street for 45 minutes to sort it out.
We loved our stay in Barcelona, and we enjoyed the apartment. We had 4 adults and 4 children, and we were very comfortable. We loved the design and all of the upgrades. The location was superb. It was right next to the Sagrada Familia. There were very nice restaurants nearby. We also enjoyed the rooftop! You could find tour buses in front of the Sagrada Familia as well as taxi stop just steps away from the apartment. Also, we felt very safe.
