The water pressure in some of the bathrooms is quite weak, but with it being an older property this is fine and perfectly usable.

In the heart of the island, the property is built in the old traditional style with so many local / homely artefacts and touches, very interesting. The shared pool (I think with a couple of other accomodations ajoining) is super nice, it's a deep quite cold pool but perfect for the hot weather. Very large property, wonderful views of a local "windmill", and a great location to access the parts of the island. Antigua is a nice local town with plenty of local restaurants, a supermarket etc. Highly recommend this house if you want an authentic touch of the island.

    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Everything. The villa is partly like a time warp, and should one go to nearby places of historical interest, the best of which is the Casa Museo Doctor Mena in nearby La Ampuyenta, one will see similar features and artefacts. The villa has so much space, complete with modern conveniences and historical features, that one is at ease with the world when relaxing on the terrace at any time of the day, or evening. The windmill is a lovely feature, and one can visit a working mill in Antigua a few miles away. The villa’s location was perfect for anyone wishing to do walks, over hills or through barrancos, especially the Barranco de las Peñitas. The walk to the top of Grand Montans gives, to my mind, the best view in all the island, whilst the two small restaurants on the beach in Pozo Negro (only 14 minutes away by car) serve wonderful food and offer peace and quiet that one does not find in many other resorts. In addition, to these, get a taxi to Betancuria, or the Mirador de Guise y Ayose (en route), and walk back along the Pilgrims’ Route over the ridge to the Plain of Antigua, and home. You will not regret it. Visit the cafes in the main square in Antigua, where there is a hyper market (Hyperdino) to purchase food/drink, should you wish. We could write so much more about Hisrorica Villla, as we were there for 13 days, and wished it were far more. It met all the criteria, and more. If, like us, you love the outdoors and visiting places of historic and cultural intertest, this is the place for you. Furthermore, the villa has all one needs, set in a quiet location.
